Mangammagari Manavadu (English: Grandson of Mangamma) is a 1984 Telugu, drama film produced by S. Gopala Reddy on Bhargav Art Productions banner, directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Bhanumathi Ramakrishna, Suhasini in the lead roles and music composed by K. V. Mahadevan. It is a remake of Tamil movie Man Vasanai. The film recorded as Industry Hit at box office.

Synopsis

Veeranna (Balakrishna) is grandson of Mangamma (Bhanumathi). Anitha is her daughter and Gokina Rama Rao son-in-law. Malli (Suhasini) is their daughter and grand daughter of Mangamma. Mangamma does not like her son in law family resulting in frequent quarrels. But Veeranna and Malli love each other. Yeleswaram Ranga is big rythu of neighbouring village. He does not like Mangamma. Every year there used to be bull fights. Rama Rao bets in the race and promises to marry his daughter with the winner. The opponents cheat them and wins by controlling the bull. Rama Rao commits suicide. They attacked Balakrishna. He killed them and runs away from the village. Everyone thinks he is dead. Finally he returns from Military service with a girl he would like to marry. The reasons behind the twist is rest of the story.

The film opens into the life of Appala Narsaih (Gollapudi Maruthi Rao), an ordinary middle-class man who makes a simple living as a Central Government clerk. His family, a typical South Indian joint family, includes his dutiful wife Godavari, his oldest son Prakash (Sarath Babu), a junior officer at Indian Oil, and his wife Uma (Suhasini), his second son Ragava (Rejendra Prasad), a factory worker, his youngest son Bharath (a never do good fellow who has failed his high school exams twice) and his daughter Sarojini (Kalpana). The modest income from his government job barely provides for his family's needs. His sons contribute some amounts in proportion to their incomes. The family gets by, but Appala Narsaih worries for the future. Prakash and Sarojini are not yet married, and Bharathi has a bleak future if he does not graduate high school. Sarojini is a particular worry; her beauty and charm are matched by her arrogance and contempt. She summarily rejects any marriage proposal, and her obstinate demeanor causes great concern to Appala Narsaih. Appala Narsaih nonetheless plows on through life hoping for solutions to his difficulties.

The movie 'Nandhini' traces the metamorphosis of a young college going girl, Raji. The story starts with a conflict between two villages Ramapuram and Raghavapuram for Lord Rama statues. In that conflict, Raja's father who is the president of Ramapuram has been killed by Govindaiah brother-Subbaramaiah. Taking into that mind Raja's elder brother Rangayya kills Subbaramaiah and is sentenced to jail. After few years, Raja falls in love with one of his colleague in college without knowing that she is Subbaramayya's daughter, her name is Vara Laxmi. But their love was not accepted neither by Laxmi's brother Hari nor by Govindayya. The rest of the film is all about how Raja struggles to marry Lakshmi with creating relationship between both the families.

Krishna (Nandamuri Balakrishna) lives in Dubai while his family is in India. His grandmother is against him who settled in India. Krishna falls for Sneha (Sonal Chauhan) and comes to India to seek the blessings of his grandmother. Jitender (Jagapati Babu) is a man with pride and haughtiness. He cannot tolerate anyone who comes across his way. Once, he goes to a nearby village for a marriage proposal to him. There he gets involved in a quarrel with the village headman (Suman) due to some unfortunate events and gets jailed. From then onwards, he tries to take revenge on that family. He kills the family members of the village headman one-by-one. As soon as Krishna arrives in India, he gets involved in quarreling with the gang of Jitendra. When Krishna and his family members are traveling in a bus to visit a temple Jitender's hitmen shoot Krishna and his family members are beaten badly by his henchmen. Krishna's elder brother Jai Dev The Legend (Nandamuri Balakrishna) who remained exiled obeying his grandmother, saves them and Krishna is admitted in a hospital. Then the past is revealed that twenty years back there was a quarrel between Jai Dev and Jitender in which Jai Dev's cousin (Radhika Apte) whom he loved was killed by Jitender. At present, he comes to know that Jitender is going to become Chief Minister of the state.How he stops Jitender from claiming this throne forms the rest of the story.
