April Fool is a 2010 Malayalam comedy film directed by Viji Thampi, scripted by Jagadish, and produced by Santosh Damodar. It stars Siddique and Jagadish in lead roles.
While the film credits Jagadish as the script writer, it is in fact an uncredited remake (except for some regional adaptations in the dialogue) of the 2007 Bollywood film Bheja Fry, by Sagar Bellary which inturn was a remake of the 1998 French film Le Dîner de Cons (directed by Francis Veber), a cinema adaptation of the theatrical play of the same name written by Veber himself and an adapted remake of Dinner for Schmucks
The movie gave a poor performance in the box office.
Synopsis
Rakesh Menon (Siddique) is a music producer (a publisher in Veber's script) married to a singer (played by Nayana). Rakesh and his friends get together every Friday for a party. In this party, they invite idiots to ridicule them behind the scenes and calling them "talent". They enjoy doing it so much that they don't even mind missing out on family appointments.Acteurs

The movie starts with a flashback, in front of a church, in 1980 when the four main characters were children. This scene the beginning of their friendship. Thomas Philip (a.k.a. Thomas Kutty) loses money to a scam artist, who responds to his complaints with violence. He is rescued by the other three who respond to his calls of distress. They then invite Thomas Kutty to join their group who, above all, vow never to cheat on one another. The scene is transitioned by the quote "Thomas kutty Vittodaa!" (Thomas kutty, time to run!) once the scam artist brings his friends to return the beating he got.

Omanakuttan (Mukesh), is a Bank Manager by profession. But he is very interested stage plays and he himself has directed and acted in many plays. He is approached by a film crew from town headed by Pavan (Suraj Venjaramoodu), to produce their debut venture. Omanakuttan who is a cinema aspirant, agrees to finance the film after he was offered the lead role. Eventually, he learns that neither Pavanan nor his associates know anything about film making. Omanakuttan decides himself to script and direct the film. He completes the film successfully with a limited cast but fails to find a distributor. To find a distributor, Omanakuttan goes to Chennai but fate had something else planned for him there. His bag gets stolen and while chasing the thief, he gets hit by a car. Fortunately the car was that of an accomplished film producer and distributor (Siddhiq). After hearing the story of Omanakuttan, he decides to distribute the film, which became a super hit in the box office.

Ranjini Menon (Sithara), a gold medal winner in journalism arrives back in Kochi from Delhi. She starts living with her brother advocate Venu Menon(Saikumar)'s family and joins Malayalam news paper Kerala Today as an investigative journalist. She meets sub-editor Unnikrishnan (Jagadeesh), a shy young man. Unnikrishnan immediately falls for Ranjini but fails to reveal his feelings. Ranjini also meets Managing Director of the newspaper, Vishwanathan (Siddique) who is a widower. Ranjini becomes close with Vishwanathan's family, particular with his daughter. This prompts Vishwanathan to consider proposing to Ranjini.
