Vizhithiru (English: Stay awake) is an upcoming Tamil action thriller film written and directed by Meera Kathiravan, who debuted with Aval Peyar Thamizharasi. The film has Krishna Kulasekaran playing the lead, with Venkat Prabhu, Dhansika, Vidharth, Abhinaya, Deiva Thirumagal Sara Arjun, Thambi Ramaiah, Nagendra Babu (brother of Chiranjeevi) and new faces Rahul Bhaskaran and Erica Fernandes in important roles. While Vijay Milton will handle the cinematography, Praveen K. L. and N. B. Srikanth have been roped in as editors. The film’s first look photo shoot took place recently. Set in Chennai, the film happens within 12 hours. It was shot completely around Ritchie Street, Mount Road and Vepery.

The film starts with an imprisoned Suruli (Vidharth) recalling his love for Mynaa (Amala Paul) since childhood that becomes more intense as they grow. Though Mynaa's mother assures Suruli of getting them married, she changes her mind and arranges for Mynaa to marry a man working in Dubai. Infuriated, Suruli threatens to kill her. He is arrested by the police and given a 15-day prison sentence. Mynaa's mother arranges the marriage a day before his release and Suruli escapes from prison. As the police officer Bhaskar (Sethu) and a constable Ramaiah (Thambi Ramaiah) handcuff Suruli, Mynaa too goes along with him as they decide to get married after he is released from prison.

Rama Chandra (NTR Jr) is an orphan who leads a simple life along with his friend (played by Ali). He falls in love with Sathya (Trisha Krishnan), who is a very rich girl. Vexed with the violence Rama Chandra kills Nasser's two sons and opens eyes of Nasser by placing a sword on Nasser's third son. In climax, Nasser realises that he was wrong and apologizes to all. Rama Chandra becomes the hero of the village.
