Ajouter à une liste de filmsKoothara (English: The Rogue) is a 2014 Malayalam coming of age mystery thriller film directed by Srinath Rajendran and written by Vini Vishwa Lal. It stars Bharath, Sunny Wayne, and Tovino Thomas in the lead roles along with Mohanlal in an extended cameo. The film is set in an untold period, focuses the life and adventures of three engineering students, Koobrin (Bharath), Tarun (Tovino Thomas)and Ram (Sunny Wayne), in their college campus and the life after that.
The film is produced by Shahul Hammeed Marikar under the banner Marikar Films and distributed by UTV Motion Pictures. The soundtrack and background score were composed by Gopi Sundar. The film was released on 13 June 2014. Upon release the film received mixed reviews.

The film proceeds as the flashback of an ex-convict Hari (Dulquer Salmaan) narrated to a man he meets at a bus stop on a rainy night. It is revealed that Hari (whose nickname is Lalu) is a poor young man who works for the local sand mafia as a driver. He is friends with Kurudi (Sunny Wayne) whose real name is Nelson Mandela PP. One day while at work, Kurudi draws Lalu to a fight leaving the sand smugglers without a driver that causes them to get caught by the police. Now jobless, Lalu and Kurudi join the group of Chaver Vavachan (Baburaj), who is a financier, and take up the job of retrieving vehicles for non-repayment of loans.

The story starts with a monologue by David Abraham, IPS (Prithviraj) during the night of Christmas. When he leaves a party, he gets involved in an accident with Shan(Vinay Forrt) and Vinu(Anu Mohan). David takes them to hospital for treating Vinu's injury which he sustained while falling down from the bike. From the hospital Vinu escapes, to Shan's horror. David starts to suspect that there is something wrong. But Shan says there is no problem and David drops him at his place. Then he notices that Vinu has dropped his wallet in his jeep.

Sagar Alias Jacky (Mohanlal) is a gangster who is known for solving problems among big gangs. The Chief Minister's(Nedumudi Venu) son-in-law, Manu(Manoj K Jayan) is kidnapped and the police are unable to find a clue. Manu's wife Indu(Shobhana) realises that the police have been influenced by her brother Hari(Ganesh) who seems to know the kidnappers. Indu decides to call her best friend Sagar to help find her husband. Sagar calls his best henchmen from all over Kerala for the job. The gang then travels to Goa where Sagar's contact tells him that the kidnappers are the Rosario brothers(Sampath Raj,Sherveer Vakil) who run the most powerful gang in the Goa underworld. After considerable difficulties, Sagar and his gang locate the night club where Manu is held hostage and helps him to escape. This audacity does not sit well with the Rosarios who swear vengeance against Sagar. They kidnap one of Sagar's favourite gangsters and demand ransom. Sagar responds by kidnapping two of the three Rosario brothers and demands that his man be released at once. Realising that they would never be able to defeat Sagar in a heads-on battle, the Rosario brothers make a deal with Manu and Hari to deliver Sagar's current location. The Rosarios then try to assassinate Sagar but fail. Frustrated with repeated defeats, the Rosarios then approach Sagar's rival, Nanthakrishna Naina(Suman). Naina supplies them with a sniper, Sheikh Imran(Rahul Dev), who is also an internationally infamous assassin. Imran is asked to assassinate Manu so that the Sagar can be framed for the murder. But the Rosarios' plan backfires as Indu gives witness that Sagar was not responsible for her husband's murder.
