The film focuses on bullock cart driver Khader (Mammootty), a retired Corporal and World War I veteran, and Unni Krishnan (Suresh Gopi), a hardline nationalist revolutionary from a family of Hindu landlords. The film opens with an illegal cockfighting competition held in a small village in central Kerala. Suddenly police enters in to the field and arrests Shivan (Mammootty), and Suku (Lalu Alex) for holding money betting. But on way, they are saved by village youths under Chellan (Bharath Gopi), a local goon, who is also a close buddy of Shivan. Both Chellan and Shivan share a strong friendship and are more like brothers. Shivan is in love with Chellan's younger sister (Seema) and Chellan and his mom have given green signal to it. Chandri ( Urvashi), the sister of Shivan, is his everything and his whole happiness revolves around her. Bhadran (Mohanlal), the younger brother of Chellan is too aggressive like him and picks up fight for every silly reasons. Its usually Shivan, who sorts out the fights that he picks up every day. Things are going very smoothy until one day Chandri gets pregnant. Chandri, in order to pacify Shivan reveals him that it is Chellan, who is responsible for this, whereas it was Thampi, her neighbor who was actually responsible. Shivan, in a sudden rage kills Chellan and surrenders at police station himself. Bhadran, but turns violent by this incident and vows to take revenge.

It is a political film on trade union and its functioning in factories. The story revolves a trade union and company owner. She brings new manager Mohan Cheriyan (Mohanlal) to solve the company issues with trade union leaders. When the company was about to lay off due to union problems, Raghavan (Mammootty)suggest a new formula for solving the company issues and this leads to save the company. finally Raghavan was killed by his own men. The film also shows the nexus between Politicians and factory owners dumping workers for their selfish deeds.

Sunny Palomattam (Mohanlal) is an established businessman in Singapore. He enjoys a flamboyant life with girlfriend Sandra Valookaran (Meena). His business rival, Mohammad Ali, was a partner who left after he was found embezzling company funds. Sunny discloses his past to Sandra: his family was a happy one, until Pappan (Rajan P. Dev) framed Sunny's father Ittichan (Madhu) in a fraud case. Shortly after, Ittichan died of a heart attack, and Sunny's engagement with fiancée Nancy (Divya Unni) is called off. Sunny flees to Mumbai, and then to Singapore with Kuruvilla's help. Later, Sunny learns that Sandra, who he plans to marry, is actually a call girl hired by Mohammad Ali, to spy on Sunny and foil his business plans.
