The story takes place in a hillside village, terrorised by the frequent attacks of a man-eating leopard. Tired of waiting for help from the authorities, the villagers under Reverend Father Panangodan (Thilakan) and Philipose Muthalali (Jagannatha Varma) decide to hire a hunter. The hunter whom they wanted had recently died, so his son Varunni (Mammootty) is summoned to the village. The uncultured life of Varunni soon became a headache for the village. The villagers try to avoid the drunkard hunter from their lives.

Sunny Palomattam (Mohanlal) is an established businessman in Singapore. He enjoys a flamboyant life with girlfriend Sandra Valookaran (Meena). His business rival, Mohammad Ali, was a partner who left after he was found embezzling company funds. Sunny discloses his past to Sandra: his family was a happy one, until Pappan (Rajan P. Dev) framed Sunny's father Ittichan (Madhu) in a fraud case. Shortly after, Ittichan died of a heart attack, and Sunny's engagement with fiancée Nancy (Divya Unni) is called off. Sunny flees to Mumbai, and then to Singapore with Kuruvilla's help. It is a political film on trade union and its functioning in factories. The story revolves a trade union and company owner. She brings new manager Mohan Cheriyan (Mohanlal) to solve the company issues with trade union leaders. When the company was about to lay off due to union problems, Raghavan (Mammootty)suggest a new formula for solving the company issues and this leads to save the company. finally Raghavan was killed by his own men. The film also shows the nexus between Politicians and factory owners dumping workers for their selfish deeds.
