Two friends, Balagopalan (Jayaram) and Jayakumar (Jagathy Sreekumar), own a call service called "We Help" to help people with the assistance of lawyer Madhavan Thampi (Madhu). Balu gets a call from Indu R. Nair, who is the daughter of a businessman. Later, Indu asks Balagoapan to be her bodyguard. But when Jayakumar and Balagopalan visit her home, they discover that Indu has been murdered. Officer Thomas Mathew takes charge of the case. Madhavan tries to find her killer to save Balagopalan and Jayakumar, before it is too late.

Gauri (Shobhana) the sole survivor of a tragic bus accident loses her memory. Admitted to a private nursing home, where she is diagnosed as suffering from 'hysterical amnesia' (retrograde amnesia), she falls in love with the doctor's son Sarath Menon (Jayaram). However, Narendran (Suresh Gopi), Gauri's husband arrives from USA searching for Gauri. The movie opens with Kozhikode city police commissioner Bharathchandran (Suresh Gopi ), an honest but brash cop, busting a gold smuggling racket in. Bharath clearly has an issue with authority and breaths fire each time he encounters a political arm bender, such as Kunju Moideen Saahib, whose gang was involved in the bust. But it his mentor and guardian angel I.G. Balachandran (M.G. Soman), who has been evidently shielding him from the wrath of the political brass.

Bharathan is a post-graduate and unemployed. Somehow he manages to get the job of a Malayalam teacher at a tuition centre. His wife Geetha works in a consumer store. The couple stays in a rented house owned by Kariyachan. Bharathan is a genius inventor and has a rather inquisitive mind especially as far as scientific matters are concerned. He is always around inventions with little care on what happens around him. He never sticks to any particular job, which lands his family in deep financial troubles. His wife Geetha is upset about all this, but little could she do to avoid her husband from becoming the laughing stock of many who don't understand him. Some people like Kariachan (Jagathy Sreekumar) cleverly usurp the patent rights of some of Bharathan's crude inventions. The few people who come with helping hands are Thankachan, one of his students in the tuition centre and Peter, who goes around finding him new jobs. In the meantime Bharathan invents a gadget that could be used to clean and sweep the courtyard and also to pluck coconuts and fruits from palms and trees.
