Anantana Avantara (Kannada: ಅನಂತನ ಅವಾಂತರ) is a 1989 Indian Kannada comedy film directed by and starring Kashinath. It is considered as one of the best comedy movies ever directed by Kashinath. It did not get much hype when it was released as the humor was sexually based but became one of the most watched movies when the CD was released. This movie is popular among online community and can be seen in almost all the sites where Kannada movies are shared.
This is the first movie of Upendra, kashinath introduced him as lyric writer, he wrote "come on come on Kaamanna' song and also acted in that song as "Manmatha" ( God of Love) and also took part in dialogue writing. Then upendra never turned back in industry.
Synopsis
Kashinath is having his own business and running a small office. His secretary is a young lady who wants to marry him but has never expressed her feelings verbally. She tries to seduce him by all possible means so that he will propose her some day. Although he acts as if he is not interested in her, he does have some sexual feelings towards her. Kashinath is a bachelor and has no women in his life, his mother always insist him to get married and he too is trying hard to get a Woman. He even has a crush over his secretary but could not express his feelings due to his introvert character.Acteurs

The movie starts with Ramesh doing his routine job in Bangalore City. In his native city, his aunt lives with her children Gauri and Gunda. When Gauri attains puberty, her mother thinks of getting her married to Ramesh and writes a letter communicating the same though the village Sheregar. On hearing this, Ramesh starts daydreaming about his cousin and soon to be wife Gauri. He also tries to educate himself by trying to buy some adult books. Gauri however is still very immature and continues her playful acts like a little village belle. Ramesh travels to the village to prepare for the marriage and tries to woe Gauri without much success. He is however eyed by another village lady Padhi who dreams of using Ramesh as her ticket to the city. After the marriage, Ramesh is not able to consummate as Gauri runs away from him. This frustrates Ramesh and he walks out into the arms of waiting Padhi. They begin a lustrous affair and Ramesh ignores his wife completely. He even goes back to the city with Padhi without the knowledge of his family promising his wife to get her as soon as he finds a suitable home. Once back in the city, they start living as husband and wife. However, Padhi loses interest in Ramesh and eyes the men around. She falls into a trap by a man who is into prostitution selling women to far Mumbai. When Ramesh finds out about Padhi's treachery he is angry but feels helpless. He gets worried about his future when police start making enquiry about Padhi and the man with whom she was seen. Back in the village his aunt along with his wife travel to Bangalore when they find that their letters were unanswered. They cannot track him in spite of visiting his work place as he has resigned. Dejected they travel back to their village. When they enter home, they find that Ramesh is back in their home to make a new beginning. Ramesh apologizes to his wife and they embrace each other in love.

The film begins with three separate teams accusing the same man of marrying one among them and making off with all their wealth. The police term it the Manmatha Raja case, and it receives wide media coverage. A man's likeness is also broadcast. Upon seeing that, two more girls realise that they have also been cheated by the same man, but are unwilling to believe it. On a separate track, Panchamruta aka Panche (Upendra) is travelling in a bus. The bus meets with an accident and Panche is admitted to the hospital. A policeman ties Panche's face to that of the accused in the Manmatha Raja case and Panche is arrested. Panche's case receives widespread attention, and it finally comes before the judge (Lakshmi). The judge's daughter Pooja (Pooja Gandhi), a law student who's one of the girls cheated by Manmatha, obtains permission to watch the proceedings.

Rudra (Upendra) is an orphan. He grows up in the graveyard. He is very innocent by nature but has a lot of strength like a demon. One day he goes into the village. The village chief ( Ramaraju) and a drug peddler use Rudra to peddle drugs. Rudra is caught in a drug peddling case and is put into prison. At this time Sathya (Darshan) joins him in jail after being framed in a false case. Sathya and Rudra become very close friends and share a special bond with each other. Sathya helps Rudra with a lot of things but is unfortunately murdered by the village chief and the drug peddler and they implicate Rudra in the murder case. This enrages Rudra and he takes on the evil men and avenges Sathya's death. After that he goes back to his home - the graveyard.
