Andari Bandhuvaya (English:relative to all) is an award winning moral Telugu movie released in 2010.It received Akkineni Award for best home-viewing feature film for the year 2010.It was directed by Chandra Siddarth. The story and dialogues was written by popular Telugu novelist Balabhadrapatruni Ramani. The movie is based on a novel called Andari Banduvaya. It is a low budget movie which did well overseas. At box office it couldn't get good collections initially but it met slow success. It was dubbed into Tamil as Gokulam.

Synopsis

Andari Bandhuvaya is a sincere attempt to highlight the importance of human values in today’s society. Movie shows two types of environments starts with city shifts to village and then shifts to city. Nandu (Sharwanand) is simple man who helps and lives in simple manner, he watches all as his family members. Paddu (Padma Priya) belongs to a poor family and feeds her family with a normal job. She is optimist and straight forward. Accidentally she visits hero's village. She watches values of village. Her behavior and conduct changes.

Sanjay (Sumanth) is an extremely practical guy who believes in nothing but logic and reasoning. He listens to his mind and ignores his heart. Hamsa Vahini (Sneha) is a girl who believes strongly in human bonds and trusts everybody easily. Hamsa likes Sanjay immensely and proposes to marry him. Sanjay too accepts the proposal. In a casual chitchat, Sanjay reveals that he does not love her though he is marrying her. He feels that it is a marriage of convenience and practicality. As Sanjay slowly realizes the power of love and starts missing her, Hamsa becomes pragmatic and practical due to her family related circumstances, and ignores his pleas for forgiveness. The rest of the story is all about how she finally accepts Sanjay's love.

Raghu Ramayya (Rajendra Prasad) is a kind hearted idealistic person who spends half of his income on charity work. His wife Bharati (Aamani), two sons Chinna and Raja and daughter Revathi are quite against this attitude. His children compel him to get money for their career (bribe for job), education (donation fee for engineering seat) and settling in United States which he feels is completely wrong. He is forced to set aside his morality and take a loan from his neighbor, Kotayya (Kota Srinivasa Rao). Unable to bear the defeat of his ideology and moral issues, he dies naturally due to a heart attack the very day he gives money to his children. The rest of the film is about how his children and wife realise just how important he was as they prepare his funeral. At last, every one had realised that after death only love and affection will come with us so love the people and society.

Seenu (Nithiin) is a new admit at maharaja college of arts and sciences. Nandini (Neha) goes to the same college. Seenu is from a middle-class family and Nandini is a rich girl. Nandini is the only daughter of Gowri Shankar, (Prakash Raj), who is a land mafia don. Gowri Shankar's assistant suspects them to be lovers after he finds them dancing at the freshers celebration at college. Seenu gets beaten up badly. Irritated by this, Seenu is challenged to win Nandini's love. After few attempts, she falls in love with him so badly. They elope and get married when Gowri Shankar tries to separate them. The story takes few turns before the movie ends in a happy note.

Loknath Naidu (Sai Kumar) takes over the reins of rural political power from a dying man, Dasaradha Rama Naidu (Balayya). On his death bed, Dasaradha Rama Naidu requests Loknath to marry his widowed daughter-in-law whose husband was murdered by rival political group. Loknath complies. His stepson is Mitra (Sharwanand) and his own son is Chinna (Sundeep Kishan). While Mitra is a devoted and loving son to Loknath, his step daughter has always hated him for marrying their mother and severs ties with them. Loknath wants to see Mitra as his heir because Mitra is a thinking man whereas Chinna is hot-blooded guy with bad life style. Chinna develops loathing towards Mitra because he receives lesser attention than Mitra from his father and is constantly discouraged by his father from entering politics. Mitra's sister's sister-in-law is the love interest of Mitra. Chinna gets upset on learning that Mitra is the new youth president of the party. That night, he gets high on drugs and sodomizes Basha's daughter. Mitra wants to punish Chinna for the act he has done. Chinna tries to get Mitra killed in a movie theater, but Mitra escapes. Chinna then kills Mitra's sister and her husband.

An anti-corruption drive led by Disha, a Gandhian social organization leads to the resignation of Krishnan Nambiar (Biju Pappan), a state minister. Susan Mary Thomas (Padmapriya Janakiraman), an upcoming English novelist is the main brain behind Disha, who also is involved in several woman empowerment programs. Just after his resignation, Krishnan Nambiar is found brutally murdered at a private tennis court. The chief Minister (Kollam Thulasi) assigns Appan Menon (Suresh Gopi), the investigation charge. Considered many to be a semi-eccentric for his way of behavior, Appan Menon is relieved from State Civil Supplies Corporation, where he was working as director. Appan Menon regularly calls up Vaiga (Vimala Raman), his wife at his residence in Madurai and gives a complete account of his day-to-day activities. Alexander Mekkadan (Siddique), who had begun the investigation of Krishan Nambiar's murder couldn't cope with the style of Appan Menon. Susan Mary Thomas is called up by Appan for preliminary questioning, but finds nothing suspicious. Up on calling Vaiga, in evening, she instructs Appan to be a bit more soft towards Susan and asks him to go and meet her to apologize. Appan reaches Susan's home, and is quite impressed by her activities, but disagrees with her non-violent movements. In mean time, Sulaiman Rauthar, a political leader is found dead. Apppan doubts both murders to be linked. Police team arrests Durga Dasan (Manoj K. Jayan), a former naxalite who claims himself to be a messenger of Goddess Durga. But up on questioning, it is revealed that he has got no links with murders. Susan, one day makes a visit to Appan's house and is shocked to find out that Vaiga is dead long back. She, with the help of Sahadevan (Chali Pala), Appan's personal assistant, gets his personal diary, through which tries to know more about him. Appan, son of a police superintendent in Tamil Nadu police, had a pale and colorless childhood. His father Vishwanatha Menon (Suresh Gopi), who was a strict follower of British army discipline tries to impose it on his son as well. Appan joins police after his education with gold medal. But just after the death of his father, he married Vaiga, whom he silently loved since his teenage days. Appan is appointed as the superintendent at Madhukarai. A ryot spreads through the village and 16 innocent villagers are brutally massacred. Appan finds out that Balasingam is brain behind the violence. His ambition to set up a Special Economic Zone was opposed by the villagers, who were feared of getting their land acquired. In retaliation, Balasingam wiped out the villagers to ease up the acquisition. Appan Menon arrests Balasingam and his accomplices. One evening, Kartha, Sulaiman Rauthar and Krishnan Nambiar and Kurian Vargeese (Mohan Jose) arrive at his home and demands a negotiation. Appan snubs them by refusing to accept any sort of negotiation. In a few minutes a group of thugs enter his residence and goes on rampage vaiga who was in bathroom is attacked by two thugs and murders her. Appan develops a psycho disturbance, in which he feels the presence of Vaiga with him. After reading his diary, Susan approaches Dr. Sreenivasan Iyengar (Lal),a psychiatrist for further details. Dr. Iyengar explains about Appan's visit to him just after the incident. He revealed to Dr. Iyengar that to get justice for Vaiga, he had killed Balasingam and is planning to killed the rest of the goons. Susan is shocked to find out that Appan himself is behind the murders of Krishnan Nambiar, Sulaiman and Kartha. Susan reaches out Alexander Mekkadan and passes out the information. Mekkadan launches a hunt for Appan, but he successfully flees from the nets. Appan reaches out at Kurian at his guest house. Kurian explains that Koshi Abraham Koshi (Saikumar), a high profile NRI businessman is the master brain behind everything. Appan kills Kurian and reaches out Koshi Abraham Koshi. He kills Koshi in the presence of the children of the 16 villagers of Madhukarai, whom Koshi had killed. The film ends by showing Appan witnessing a violent protest led by Susan Mary Thomas.
