There are four boys and one girl. All are very good friends, but the girl wants to choose any one of them as a special friend who can become her life partner later. Her elder sister had a fight with her husband and left him. The girl went to her husband and asked for help. He refers her to a doctor who can help her. Dr.Anughatak. The doctor is no one but himself only in disguise. He helps by asking her to test 4 of his friends in 10 various situations how they react. Based on that she has to play a game of cards where she has to mark them. The person who gets maximum points in all 10 rounds will be the winner and she can marry that person. She agrees and shares the same with her sister. She starts playing the game but discovers at the end that if she plays an additional extra round the results are changing. She gets angry with the doctor and marries the person whom she loves most and realizes that we can not get every good virtue in same person. People differs, whatever good things we get inside our beloved people, we have to be happy with it. Her sister also realizes the same and comes back to her husband.

The film is set in a boys' school in Kurseong. The story revolves around the life of school teacher Jayabrata Ray, played by Saswata Chatterjee, who has gone blind due to a sudden retinal disorder. He must now rely on his sense of hearing. After becoming irritable and helpless due to the situation, how he tries to stop the school being sold and how he tackles the situation himself (as his friends are turning foes) becomes the issue of the story.

This is a story about four friends, Hari, Shekhar, Ashim, and Sanjay. They studied at the same school. Ashim studied to be a doctor, but decided to never pursue that profession. Sanjay worked for an ad agency but left the job. The rest have never held a job. They started a Bengali band, but they were beaten up by the public at a stage show in North Bengal. They vowed to never perform again. At this point, they start a travelling agency, called 'Gharoa Travels'. On their first trip, they start the journey with only 9 passengers. On the way to the hills, a girl named Ria joins them. The film deals with their journey through North Bengal. The ten tourist and the four operators form an assorted medley of characters. As the journey progresses, their natures are slowly revealed. The film has a style of flash-forwarding to the future juxtaposed with the present, giving the audience a sense of the fates of the characters even as the story progresses.

The story revolves around a brave heart Barun Biswas, portrayed by Parambrata Chatterjee, who raises voice against numerous gang rapes in a village called Dukhiya. After a horrific accident while performing a stunt for the circus, trapeze artist Shibu finds himself restricted to his bed. In compensation, the manager agrees to pay only ₹ 15,000 to Shibu's family, which according to Shibu's juniors is a minuscule amount. They are angry but helpless as the only source of regular income for them is the circus. Sympathizing with the struggle of Shibu and his family, Khoka (Dulal Sarkar), Shibu's closest friend, decides to protest against the manager and hence leaves his job and take on total responsibility for Shibu's family. The family struggles with social apathy towards dwarves and poverty then takes a turn when Khoka realizes that he is in love with Shibu's daughter, Soma (Debalina Roy).
