Supriya Choudhury (born 8 January 1935), is an Indian Bengali actress, who has acted in Bengali cinemas for more than 50 years. Her real name is Krishna and nickname Benu. In 2011 she received Banga-Vibhushan, the highest civilian honour in West Bengal. In 2014, She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India, the fourth highest civilian award in India, for her contributions to the entertainment industry.

Biographie

In 1954, Supriya married Bishwanath Choudhury and a few years later her only daughter Soma was born. She retired from films for a while before returning in the late 1950s. .

Handa (Mithun) is a simple, sincere and hardworking person, but his honesty even lands him in trouble sometimes, created by his not-so-perfect colleagues and his own boss (Biswajit). Handa's son, Bhonda (Aritra), is exactly opposite to his father's character isn't. He is a brat. He steals his father's money, flunks his unit tests, gets punished every day in school, also copies his father's signature in the progress report card, bunks classes and even hits on his most beautiful classmate, Medha. Madly Bangalee is a Bengali rock band that inspires the film’s title. They rehearse in a dowdy garage of Kolkata, owned by Bobby (Lew Hilt), who owns Bobby’s Garage. Four young boys with stardust in their eyes practise their numbers not knowing what they are really aiming at. But the garage is under threat from a South Kolkata don Baburam (Chandan Sen). One morning, an elderly man, San (Anjan Dutt), arrives from "America and Paris." Baaji, (Sumit) the drummer who is a Muslim had to drop out of school. He escapes from the trap of turning a terrorist like his older brother Sultan. He later becomes a police officer who bashes up everyone who tries to bribe him. Neon (Tanaji) plays the bass guitar but, sucked into the world of drugs, he disappears from the face of the earth with his guitar. Pablo, lead singer, lead guitarist and lyricist, leaves for the US and the group breaks up. Bobby dies.

The movie revolves around an imaginary village called Haridevpur where Dr. Subhankar Sanyal (Ranjit Mullick) arrives as the head doctor of a Dharampur State Hospital, who is a specialist in each field. He tries to break the previous rules made in an agreement between the Super, (Manoj Mitra), and Dr. Sen, (Haradhan Bandopadhyay), because of which he faces many difficulties. By creating various hardships in his daily life, the Super and Dr. Sen try to remove him from the hospital. They succeed in this act by passing out his transfer to some other place.
