'Julie' is the 2006 Kannada remake of 1975 Hindi film Julie,which itself was the remake of Chattakari, a 1974 Malayalam hit film, which had made Lakshmi an overnight star in the South.The film starred Ramya in the title role as "Julie" and Dino Morea as the leading man. 'Julie' was produced by K.C.N.Mohan and was directed by his wife Poornima Mohan. The narration of the Kannada film was just a scene to scene remake of the Hindi remake.The intimate scenes(including a smooching scene) in the film were a point of discussion at that time and Ramya said that Dino had a cold and kept sniffing all the time and it was the first time I was doing intimate scenes. He was prepared and casual. I needed some time. Dino also sang a song for the film.
Synopsis
Ramya essayed the role of a Julie,a single,unwed mother in the film. Julie(Ramya), a Christian, is seduced by childhood sweetheart Shashi(Dino Morea), a Hindu and, becomes pregnant, though he has no idea of this, as he leaves to find a job. Her mother wants her to abort the child, something Julie is unwilling to do, so she is told to stay and have the baby in a convent/orphanage. Julie returns without the baby hoping that Shashi will marry her but, her future is uncertain. Her brother has invited them to all live in England, and Richard, a nice Christian boy, is willing to marry her as he still loves her despite her being a mum.Sundeep Malani plays a Managing Director (Mr. Gupta) of a Company who is been invited by Morris Family over drinks and dinner. He has an evil eye on Julie(Ramya). Finally, it is a happy ending for Julie who unites with her lover,Shashi(Dino Morea) even as the entire family members decide to support her.Acteurs

Julie (Ramya) is a young Christian woman who finds herself pregnant after giving into a night of passion with Shashi (Dino Morea), a Hindu follower and her childhood sweetheart. Faced with the choice of abortion or carrying the child to term, Julie chooses to keep the pregnancy a secret from Shashi and goes to a convent, where she will deliver the child and put it up for adoption. Afterwards Julie returns home in the hopes that Shashi will marry her now that she does not have a baby, as she thought that he would not have shown an interest in her otherwise. Despite her well-laid plans, Julie finds that things aren't so simple as that. Not only does her brother want her to move to England, but she also meets Richard, a man who doesn't care that she has had a baby out of wedlock. Ultimately Julie manages to reconcile with Shashi and live happily ever after.
