Kahani Kismat Ki is a 1973 Hindi film produced and directed by Arjun Hingorani. The film's success prodded the director to try to recreate its success by continuing with its lead actor and film titles having 3 words starting with the alphabet K. ( i.e. Katilon Ke Kaatil ). The film stars Dharmendra, Rekha, Ajit, Rajindernath, Bharat Bhushan, Shetty.
The movie was released in 1973 under the banner of Kapleshwar Pictures. Other starcast included Sulochana Latkar, Jayshree T., Rajni Gupta, Abhi Bhattacharya, Yunus Parvez, and Hiralal in significant roles. The story and screenplay were written by K.A. Narayan and Arjun Hingorani respectively whereas dialogues were written by S.M. Abbas. Famous music directors Kalyanji-Anandji composed the music of the movie and list of playback singers included Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar and Mukesh.
Synopsis
Even after attaining a bachelor's degree, Ajit Sharma is unable to secure any employment in order to better the lifestyle of his widowed mother, sister, Meena, elder brother Gopuram and a younger brother. He gets frustrated and takes to robbing and stealing. Being an amateur he is arrested by the police and sentenced to two years in jail. After he completes his sentence, he decides to be honest and seek employment, but without any success. Then one day he wins some money after beating a wrestler. He decides to buy some necessities for his family, which inter Alia consists of a school-bag. When Gopuram opens the bag, he finds it filled with cash. The family is enraged that Ajit has obtained these funds through crime, but Ajit defends himself, finds out who the owner (Premchand) is and returns the money to him. A gratified Premchand employs Ajit with a generous remuneration. Ajit meets with Premchand's daughter, Rekha, and both fall in love, and would like to get married. Before that could happen, a woman comes forward claiming that Ajit is her husband, and is also the father of a child; the police arrest Ajit for the murder of a man named Karam Singh. As a result, Premchand fires him from employment, his family will have nothing to do with him, and Ajit must now come to terms that he may face the death penalty.Acteurs

Soorma Bhopali is the owner of a Timber mart. He wants to distribute all his wealth to humanity. His trust and innocence is taken advantage of by the people. Dilwar Khan Dilwala, who happens to be the identical step brother of Soorma, keeps staking his claim on half of Soorma's inheritance. Soorma inherited a priceless necklace which, according to his mother, he will have to give to his bride. To get the necklace from Soorma, a group of smugglers send a stage dancer, Sitara, to Bhopal to trap Soorma. Soorma takes the necklace and follows Sitara to Bombay, but two thieves by the name of Kaalia and Sambha relieve Soorma of his belongings, including the necklace.

Ajay Sharma (Dharmendra), is a Police Inspector of notable wealth. He is happily married to Asha (Rekha) with two children. Many a times he goes out of his work area to destructively capture dangerous criminals and inadvertently falls under disciplinary warning with his concerned superiors. After repeated warnings he is discharged from the Police force. He decides to go back to his boyhood town by joining his father (Madan Puri) in the family business. They are living happily. However a notable Criminal going by the name of Rocky (Shakti Kapoor) and his uncle (Pinchoo Kapoor) trace Ajay to his home town and decide to set up a casino. Past its grand opening, Ajay and his friend Albert (Jalal Agha) visit the casino and fall under a confrontation with the gamekeeper and management when they are cheated during the game. During the fight, Albert is killed and Ajay is seriously wounded.

A wealthy and independent industrialist, JK alias Jai Kishan befriends a young man from a middle-class background by the name of Munish Mehra, assists him financially to go abroad and get necessary qualifications as an engineer, and then hires him on one of his construction projects. Jai meets with and falls in love with Meena Khanna, who is the daughter of a government official. Shortly after this, Jai finds out that Munish is also attracted to Meena, and is enraged. He subsequently fires Munish, and ensures that he will not get hired anywhere else. After several vain attempts to obtain employment, Munish gets hired by the government, and is assigned to investigate the collapse of a railway bridge. Munish finds out that Jai was directly responsible for this mishap as he used sub-standard materials. Munish now has the tools to avenge his humiliation at the hands of Jai, and accordingly informs his employer. But when the time comes for Munish to make a full report, he declines, and the government has no alternative but to prosecute him in a court of law for taking bribes and destroying his report. And the main witness appearing against him is none other than Jai.
