An ex-boxer Baldev Choudhary (Dharmendra) has had a stain in his boxing career. He wanted to wash it with his son Angad's (Sunny Deol) success, but times were hard and a financial crunch kept him from achieving this dream. Though Angad pulled through fine, Baldev never forgot who ruined his chance to wash the stain. An opportunity strikes Baldev in the form of a T.V. Show. He trains a local boy to get into this media hyped boxing show, but is ditched for a better coach at the last minute. Baldev's younger son Karan (Bobby Deol) has just launched his first music album. Realizing his father is in crises of his life, he gives up his dream of a musical career to get into the game of boxing. Karan wins all through thinking that his victory will bring the two pillars of his family together. After winning within the nation, he wins all over the world. The final match is with the current world heavy champion. The match goes fine, but Karan is tricked and he ends up paralysed in a hospital bed. Baldev, who wanted to wash a stigma is now about to lose his son. He feels like killing himself. When Karan reveals the world heavy champion cheated, Angad decides to get into the game of boxing once more and win the title for his father.Angad steps in and brings the world heavyweight champion belt to India. On the other hand, Karan suffers liver damage and requires a liver to survive. Baldev pleads with the doctors to use his liver, but the doctors reject the idea. However, the operation continues as God hears Baldev's call – a liver is donated to Karan through an unknown donor. In the end, Baldev who was going to give up his life for Karan, is instead alive and happy with his family.

Karan (Sohail Khan) and Bindiya (Nauheed Cyrusi) are childhood friends and live with Karan's brother Arjun Rana (Sunny Deol). Karan's feelings for Bindiya are more than just of a friend, however she is unaware of his feelings and falls in love with Saahil (John Abraham) gradually. When Karan find this out, he warns Sahil to stay away from Bindiya but he doesn't and makes a love letter for her .The next day karan sees the letter and tears it apart then Karan's friend Rony (Apoorva Agnihotri) humiliates him about falling in love with bandiya and being so poor .So Saahil gets angry and tries to kill himself. However, when Sahil's brother Sanju (Sunil Shetty) finds him unconscious and badly wounded, he cannot control his anger and goes looking for Rony. However, when Sanju gets to the college he sees Karan sitting down, wearing Rony's Jacket with his name on the back, starts beating him up in public. Karan is hospitalised when Sanju finds out that he has beaten Karan and not Rony. Now Arjun Rana who is a very powerful & wealthy communist and gangster wants to avenge Sanju for badly beating up his brother. However, Arjun is unaware of Bindiya's feelings for Sahil and Karan's for Bindiya. Saahil advises Sanju to give up his violent ways. Sanju hands himself to Arjun and gets badly beaten up by him. Saahil apologizes to Sanju. Saahil decides to leave Bindiya.

The film opens before the declaration of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. At a Forward operating Airbase Air force Wing Commander Anand 'Andy' Bajwa, setting his stop watch waits for the Air raid Siren to go. As the siren goes he sprints Towards his MiG-21 armed, fueled and Ready for take off. Bajwa and His Air Force wingmen soon take off to an unknown Airbase in Rajasthan. Once there, he is Debriefed by his superior that he & his Squadron are assigned to the Jaisalmer sector and has to fly outdated Hawker Hunter Ground attack planes (with no night vision capabilities) to support the Indian Army. He is soon joined by his Brother-in-arms Army Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri (played by Sunny Deol) as they meet on a courier flight and speak about the possibility of opening of the Western front in light of the East Pakistan conflict. Kuldip takes up command of a company of the 23rd Battalion Punjab Regiment, arguing the light defence being assigned to the military post of Longewala. He meets his second in command 2nd Lt Dharamvir Bhan (Akshaye Khanna) (who happens to be the son of a 1965 Indo-Pakistani-War veteran who was killed during that war) and the Company NCO Subedar Mathura Das (Sudesh Berry). The company moves to the remote outpost in the deserts of Rajasthan and begin to expand the rudimentary Border Security Force (BSF) post and does a recce of the area up to the international border with Pakistan. They meet the post's BSF commandant Bhairon Singh (Sunil Shetty), a deeply patriotic man who expresses his love for the desert.

Two Indian Secret Service Agents, Ajay Saxena and Abdul, are not only co-workers, but also live like brothers and family. The story revolves around a big group of friends consisting of Atul (Akshay Kumar), Vijay (Sunil Shetty), Divya (Manisha Koirala), Vivek (Sonu Nigam), Prem (Aftab Shivdasani), Abdul (Arshad Warsi) and Rajesh (Rajat Bedi) amongst others. Divya is a reincarnated soul who herself is unaware of this. When Rajesh raped Divya, she commits suicide thinking that all of her friends were involved in the rape. The rest of the friends are completely unaware of anything and are innocent. When Kapil (Armaan Kohli), the lover of Divya's previous life finds out about her death, he comes back to life to get revenge from all of the group. As a punishment, Rajesh is strangled to death first. This is followed by Abdul being electrocuted. Although Atul & his other friends don't have a chance to tell Divya that they're truly innocent, they're not going to forgive Divya & Kapil because two innocent people including Abdul are already dead. Rajesh was the only guilty person. It would've been better for Divya & Kapil to ask them if Abdul was guilty or not? A priest (Raj Babbar) gives the group of friends a necklace and assures them that they cannot be harmed when they are wearing the necklace. Atul doesn't believe in any of this. However, when he is attacked by Kapil, he realizes he survived because the necklace was stuck on his hand.
