Madirasi is a 2012 Malayalam action comedy film directed by Shaji Kailas and starring Jayaram, Meera Nandan, Meghana Raj, Kailash, Kalabhavan Mani and Tini Tom. The film is based on a series of true incidents that took place in Madirasi, the Malayalam name for the city of Madras. Madirasi is however described as a part of Coimbatore in the film.
Synopsis
The film tells the story of Chandran Pillai (Jayaram), a widower from a village in Kerala. Bhama (Meera Nandan), who is a teacher, wants to get married to Chandran Pillai and be a mother to his son, whom she likes a lot. The story begins with a young chap (Kailash) getting kidnapped. In the meantime, Chandran Pillai travels to Madirasi, to buy for his son a brand new cycle. There he is drawn into a very vicious circle when he goes probing the disappearance of Johny (Kalabhavan Mani), a police constable.Acteurs

Prakash Menon (Jayaram) is a successful architect based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. His company's Kochi branch was not doing so good and so the company decided to relocate him to Kochi to make things good. He was supposed to replace his equivalent in Kochi named Anu Pillai (Suchitra Krishnamoorthi). Anu Pillai is not happy about the company's decision since she does not want to move out of Kochi and she objects. Prakash in turn comes to Kochi, understands the office situation and decides to talk to Anu Pillai in person.

Pulikattil Charlie (Mohanlal) is a Nasrani Achayan from Travancore. He, after the death of his father, has struggled hard to create a business empire of his own. His father was a ruthless feudal landlord, who during his lifetime had done several heinous crimes. Charlie is now helping all those who had to once suffer from the hands of his father. The comical film introduces us to a small village and its funny characters. The narrator (M. G. Soman in the prologue) informs of its developments and day-to-day activities. Soon, it slowly focus to the problems discussed in the Panchayat office (fights do occur between two factions in a comical way), in which the main problem is the absence of a veterinary doctor. The leaders of the opposition faction, Nanappan (Jagathy Sreekumar) and Uthpalakshan (Pappu), gives a final ultimatum to the Panchayat president Unnikannan Nair (Nedumudi Venu) to resign his post if he can't find a vet within days.

Vishnu (Vijay)'s father wants to bring up his son as a timid person but the guy desires to explore the world and hates his Dad's overprotection. So Vishnu leaves home and goes to work in an estate claiming that he is an orphan. The owner of the estate adopts Vishnu as his son. Meanwhile Vishnu falls in love with Radha (Sanghavi). Everything goes fine for Vijay till his adopted father shows a photograph and asks Vijay to kill the people in the photo if he really wants to prove the affection he has for him. The man gives the reason that he wants them killed because they ruined his family.Vishnu agrees immediately but he's shocked to see his own father Jaishankar in the photograph. How Vijay gets to solve the mystery forms the climax of the movie.
