Odeio o Dia dos Namorados (English: I Hate Valentine's Day) is a Brazilian comedy film, directed by Roberto Santucci, written by Paulo Cursino and starring Heloísa Périssé, Daniel Boaventura and Danielle Winits. The film was released on June 7, 2013.

Synopsis

Deborah was waived by Hector humiliatingly after certain disagreements. Soon after she puts priority to his work in advertising, where one week next Valentine's Day comes a job offer after accepting she discovers her client is Hector. In this situation, she still has to deal with the unexpected visit of the ghost of a friend Gilberto, who tries to get her to rethink life and discover what people really think of her.

The film follows the story of Cláudio, a successful publicist who owns his own agency, and Helena, his wife, a music teacher who takes care of a children's choir. Accustomed to the day-by-day marriage routine, they occasionally argue. One day they have a bigger fight than normal, which causes something inexplicable to happen: they switch bodies. Mateo Melgarejo (played by Mario Moreno "Cantinflas") is a notary public and scribe for the illiterate people of Santo Domingo, a neighborhood north of Mexico City's Zócalo. A squatter friend asks for his help in negotiating with the land census bureau to regularize a land title. After a great deal of frustration with the government bureaucracy, he writes a letter to the cabinet minister, earning an audience with him. The minister hires Melgarejo to reform the bureau, and the appointee proceeds to lecture the officials on their duties in a democratic society. At the end, he gives up the post, returning to Santo Domingo to help its poor residents.
