Pudhu Padagan (English: New Singer) is a 1990 Indian Tamil drama film directed by S. Thanu. The film features Vijayakanth and Amala in lead roles. The film, produced and had musical score by S. Thanu, was released on 14 April 1990.
Synopsis
Manikkam (Vijayakanth) and Devi (Amala) are cousin and they are in love since their childhood. Durai has a sister Valli and she gets married with Raja. Devi has a brother (Vagai Chandrasekhar), a sister-in-law Gowri (Rajalakhsmi) and a niece Baby ( Aparna).Acteurs

Karthik (Richard) gets a call from his friend Kathir (Parthy) who explains to him that he had earlier that day received a call that his fiancée, Isha (Vidhya), has cancelled her flight. Kathir had followed her and discovered that she had checked out a room in a local hotel, after which Kathir rents out the room across the hall from Isha believing she is cheating on him. Thaneer Thaneer is a political drama and a universal human story based in a dry rural hamlet near Kovilpatti, in Tamil Nadu state of India. This is a film about administration negligance of suffering villagers, excessive bureaucratic regulation (Red tape), greed, power and powerlessness. When a remote village faces severe water shortages, the inhabitants adopt all possible means to bring their problem to the attention of the authorities. But the process soon reveals the apathetic attitude of politicians, bureaucrats and the press alike. A convict wanted for the murder of a local landlord turns the villagers' plight to his advantage and begins a co-operative scheme to transport water in a cart from a spring ten miles away.
