Raktha Tilakam (Telugu: రక్త తిలకం) is a 1988 Tollywood Action - family film directed by B. Gopal and produced by K.Ashok Kumar on Sri Usha Art Productions. Starring Venkatesh and Amala played the lead roles and music is composed by Chakravarthy. The film is remade in Hindi as Pratikar in 1991. The film was Hit at the box office.

Synopsis

Krishna Prasad is son of a rich man (Jaggayya), in his childhood his father younger brother (Nutan Prasad) kills his brother for the property and Krishna Prasad is driven out of the house. Krishna Prasad goes to live with his school-teacher Nagamani (Sharada) whom he treats as his own mother, she has two children, Balaram & Jyoti, of her own. Nutan Prasad tries to kill Krishna also but unfortunately Balaram is separated from his family, and assuming he is dead. Nagamani looks after Krishna and Jyoti. After 20 years, Krishna Prasad (Venkatesh) falls in love with his college friend Radha (Amala). (Sudhakar) son of Nutan Prasad turns to become a local goonda, protected by his dad by bribing the local police. Jyoti is raped and murdered by Sudhakar and his pals, and they also run over Nagamani rendering her crippled. Both Krishna and Nagamani swear to avenge Jyoti's death. Then Balaram (Siva Krishna) re-enters their lives, as a police inspector, and is bent on arresting Krishna by hook or by crook, casting doubts whether he is or not on the payroll.

The film is set in the backdrop of lorry driver's union who are compelled to work under a power-hungry owner Ranganayakulu (Raja Krishna Murthy) and thereby becoming victims of exploitation. The film begins with election campaigning in Bobbili Village. Sundaraiyah (Gummadi) and Rajeswari Devi (Vanisree) are strong opponents in elections. Rajeswari Devi and her elder brother Ahobala Rao (Kota Srinivasa Rao) plays a lot of tactics to win the elections. But their younger brother Suryam (Vidya Sagar) supports Sundaraiyah and also loves his daughter Rajyalakshmi (Sumitra) and she becomes pregnant. Ahobala Rao plays a game and keeps the blame on Sundaraiyah & Rajyalakshmi, both of them are arrested, but somehow they escape from jail and reaches a forest.

Chinnarayudu (Venkatesh) the arbitrator and most respected person in a village and sees through that all the people lives happily. Whenever injustice comes to the fore, he appears to resolve it in an authentic manner, he lives with his mother Durgamma (Nirmalamma). The Collector of Anokhapur, Jagatpratap Singh (played by Dilip Kumar) is a stickler for law and order. However, his son, Ravi (Sanjay Dutt) believes that sometimes illegal means may be adopted in order to assert control. This causes conflict between Jagatpratap and his son. Bhushannath 'Dharmendra' Bhadbhole (Kader Khan) is a corrupt Minister of Fisheries. His son, Kailash (Gulshan Grover), and Kabza Kanhaiyalal (Anupam Kher) rape and kill Jagatpratap's maid/servant and also kill Ravi's friend. Instead of being convicted for this crime, they are acquitted because they gave fake alibis. Ravi decides to give these criminals the punishment they deserve. As Ravi knows this will cause a conflict with his father, he decides to leave home. He then becomes a police inspector. This does not heal the father-son bond as he still has different ideas about the meaning of justice. After deliberating on the statement that "the law is for human beings but not for monsters", the father finally agrees to join his son in his fight against the corrupt minister.
