Kittu / Krishna (Sundeep Kishan) is a cab driver who saves his money with the cab owner (Tanikella Bharani). When the owner refuses to return his money, Kittu kidnaps the owner's daughter Nandu (Regina Cassandra). Nandu, who is fed up with her father's unilateral decision about her marriage, is happy with the kidnapping. They fall in love with each other in the process. Seenu (Ram) enjoys fights right from his childhood. He appreciates violence. He wants to be like Manikyam (Pradeep Rawat), who was a goonda, as everyone, including his teacher, is afraid of him. Corrupt Central Minister (Rao Ramesh), is facing accusations over possessing black money of one hundred thousand crore, and money laundering it into Europe, through his un-suspecting daughter, Akanksha (Catherine Tresa), a psychology student who goes to Barcelona to pursue higher education. Raja (Sharwanand) is a simple yet well off son of a vegetable vendor. He constantly keeps breaking-up with girlfriends because of his honesty. Then he meets Priya (Seerat) and they both fall in love. ZID starts off with a flashback which has the film's protagonist Rohan (Karanvir Sharma), a crime reporter with 'The Daily'(a newspaper based in Goa), narrating an incident to his newspaper's editor Karan(Mohan Kapoor) and the area's DSP (Rajeev Saxena). He says that with the help of the editor, he found a rented house at his friend's outhouse located far away from the rest of Goan civilisation. Even though the said place looks haunted, Rohan still adjusts himself to the situation despite having a paralysed owner, who is driven on a wheelchair throughout and who also happens to be the father of Maya (Mannara Chopra). For Maya, it is love at first sight when she sees Rohan, who incidentally is recovering from a break-up with Priya (Shraddha Das), his girlfriend of many years and who is now settled in London. While Maya leaves no stone unturned to get Rohan's attention, Rohan seems to be still 'lost in love' about Priya.

The film focusses on a family living in Hyderabad whose head is Ram Murthy (Nagineedu), a retired head master. He is a disciplined person and always tries to make his relatives behave in the same way. To avoid bad remarks from the society about his family, he sets up a family constitution of discipline. His mania for discipline is such big that if any one of his family members commit 100 Mistakes, that person would be banished from the family and that mistake can be anything which Ram Murthy hates which ironically includes laughing out loudly. Thus all of the family members maintain a disciplinary life to avoid being banished from the house. In detail, the family consists of Ram Murthy's wife Seetha, an Asthma patient; his daughter Kasthuri, his son in law Anand and their kids. Apart from them are Ram Murthy's two sons Brahmaji (Brahmaji) and Sundeep (Sundeep Kishan). Since Ram Murthy's brother Subrahmanyam (Prithviraj) was alleged to be committed 100 Mistakes though he didn't, he is sent away from home. While all of the family members commit mistakes less than 20, Sundeep commits 99 Mistakes and one more, he is out of the family. So to avoid that Sundeep starts leading a careful life. Brahmaji's marriage is scheduled at Tirupathi and the whole family boards Venkatadri Express at Kacheguda. Sundeep's mother forgot the Mangala sutra at the house and Sundeep goes away to bring it back. Moreover to his convenience, Sundeep is in S4 while others are in S3. So Sundeep goes outside the station and waits for an Auto-Rickshaw, But none accepts to go to his area. Meanwhile a miser techie Prarthana (Rakul Preet Singh) reaches Kachiguda railway station to board the Venkatadri Express and the Auto-Rickshaw driver goes to bring the change in order to pay her off the balance amount after receiving the fare. Sundeep gets into the vehicle and goes to his home. He breaks the house's lock with a stone as he has no keys to open it. He takes the Mangala sutra and goes back to Kacheguda Railway Station. Prarthana catches yet another auto and reaches to the station. There she pays off the fares of both the vehicles and goes to board the train.

The movie begins with Raghupathi (Nassar) being introduced as the eldest of his three brothers - the other two being Raghava (Tanikella Bharani) and Rajaram (Vajja Venkata Giridhar) and sister Swarajyam (Rajitha) and her husband (Chandramohan) with Chandu (Ram) as the only son of Raghava and sole inheritor of the property of 'R S Brothers'. Chandu plans the elopement of his cousin Swapna (Tamannaah) with her boyfriend (Navdeep) due to which he is ousted from the house and is isolated from his family by Raghupathi. However, Chandu tries to re-establish links with his family members, but to no avail. Meanwhile, on the last day of his college, Chandu and his friends meet their friend "Google" Gopi (Ravi Varma) who is depressed because his girlfriend is getting married to someone else. Chandu decides to stop the marriage and marry off her to Gopi. However, they kidnap Pooja (Genelia D'Souza) instead of Gopi's girlfriend due to a mistaken identity. After being chased by some hooligans - who are after Pooja - they escape with the exception of Chandu and Pooja who end up in forest. Chandu falls for Pooja who also reciprocates her feelings.
