Veettuku Veedu (Tamil: வீட்டுக்கு வீடு) is a 1970 Indian Tamil film, directed by C. V. Rajendran and produced by S. Suryaprakash, Rajan, R. Renganathan and R. Parthasarathy. The film's script was written by Chitralaya Gopu. Starring Jaishankar, Lakshmi, R. Muthuraman Vennira Aadai Nirmala and Nagesh in lead roles with V. K. Ramasamy and Major Sundararajan playing supporting roles. Soundtrack is composed by M. S. Viswanathan. aseets to the movie. Viswanathan Ramamoorthy (2001) is siad to be inspired from this film.

Synopsis

Vasudevan(Jaishankar) is rich bussiness man Kadikalingam(Major Sundararajan) son, vasu was fearful man of his father. Because kadikalingam is very strict man. Vasu worked at his father own company posed at General Manager. Vasu was loves with a young bold women malathy(Lakshmi. But Kadikalingam was strictly opposing his love , so Vasu was leaves his home and getting registerd marriage for malathy. The couples in a tenant in Kala's(Vennira Aadai Nirmala) house. She is malathy's close friend and her husband named as Balu(R. Muthuraman). He was close relationship with another women named as Prameela(Radhika), she is stage dancer. Kala was feel about her unhappy married life. Balu was avoiding kala. Balu against brutally violet offensive to his wife. Malathy was must warn to balu. Balu was put signature to divorce paper and leaves his wife kala and he was stay with his girl friend prameela house.

Mohan (Nagesh) is a tailor who lives with his younger sister Vimala (Jayalalithaa). Orphaned at a very young age, Mohan goes through a life of hardship and fulfill all his sister's wish. Womanizer Rajinikanth (A. V. M. Rajan) lures Vimala and cheats on her. Unable to face her brother, she commits suicide. Mohan confronts Rajinikanth and in a fit of rage kills him. A wild search is on by the cops and the fugitive hides in 'Major' Chandrakanth (Major Sundarrajan) house. Mohan is amused and fascinated by Chandrakanth virtues and how he manages to live though he is blind. Mohan reveals why he is on the run from law and ironically the deceased happens to be Chandrakanth's youngest son. Chandrakanth feels humiliated for nurturing Rajinikanth and is sorry for Mohan's plight. In the end Inspector Srikanth (Muthuraman), eldest son of Chandrakanth arrests Mohan along with his father for his hospitality to a criminal.

Sundaram (Nagesh), a poor man, comes to Madras with aspirations of becoming a film actor. However, he ends up getting a job in a restaurant called Greenlands Hotel as a waiter. While catering for a group of people who go on an excursion to Mahabalipuram, he meets Radha (K. R. Vijaya), the daughter of his restaurateur, Chakravarthy (Major Sundarrajan). He misinterprets her friendly nature as love and falls in love with her. In the meantime, Sundaram happens to meet his friend Raghavan (R. Muthuraman), an influential businessman, in the restaurant. During their subsequent meetings, Sundaram tells Raghavan about his ambition to become an actor as well as about his love for Radha, without mentioning her name. Raghavan genuinely believes that the girl reciprocates Sundaram's feelings and motivates Sundaram to express his love.

A middle-class joint family is living happily run by the responsible father Ethiraj, a retired headmaster. He has three sons – Maheshwaran, Raman, and Krishnan. Maheswaran is a Hindi professor, married to Parvathi and they have 5 children. Raman, a clerk in high-court is married to Sita and they have two children. Krishnan, a medical representative is married to Rukmani. Apart from them, Sumathi, the younger sister of Sita also stays in the same house, as she is pursuing higher studies in the same city. Though it’s a joint family, the father has set up his three sons in three different portions in the same house, and takes turns to eat in each of his son’s house, to avoid any possibility of problems between them. The sons give their salaries to their father, and all the financial matters are dealt by him efficiently. He is respected and feared by everyone in the family. Wrong-doers in the house-hold are made to stand on a bench by him as punishment.
