Ganesh (Selva), a good-for-nothing youth, falls in love with Aishwarya (Monica Nerukkar). Her father Karnal Rajappa (Rajan P. Dev) is a very strict father who hates love. Ganesh and Aishwarya decide to elope but her father later has a heart attack and Aishwarya refuses to marry him. Karnal Rajappa's state of health deteriorates, therefore he arranges his daughter's wedding as soon as possible. Three terrorists (Sathya Prakash, Mahanadi Shankar and Bhanu Prakash) escape from jail. While preparing Aishwarya's wedding in Karnal Rajappa's house, Ganesh enters in her room and tries to convince her. In the meantime, the three terrorists enter in their house and begin to sequester them. These terrorists are ultimately Ganesh's friends and it was Ganesh's plan to marry his lover Aishwarya. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

Palanisamy (Sathyaraj) is an uneducated man who dreams to marry a teacher and lives with his friend Dhandapani (Goundamani). Palanisamy falls in love with Hamsaveni (Sukanya) at first sight. Balu (Prabhu) is an eligible bachelor, looking for a wife. With a picture perfect woman in mind, he insults and rejects many women. Meanwhile, Chitra (Radhika) is looking for a way to reconcile her sister Geetha's marriage with her husband. Geetha has been sent to her parent's home for no fault of hers. Chitra figures that the most appropriate way to settle scores with her sister's in-laws, is by marrying Balu, as Geetha is married to Balu's brother. She disguises herself as a village belle, Rajathi and enters Balu's life. After marriage, Balu is traumatised by her ignorance, but Rajathi (Chitra) falls in love with him. Meanwhile, Rajathi's suitor from the village hatches a plan to bring her back from her husband and marry her forcibly. Balu on the other hand decides to divorce Rajathi. Chitra decides to unveil her mask now, but will her plan succeed or boomerang.
