Veyilodu Vilayadu (Tamil: வெயிலோடு..விளையாடு; English: Play with the sun) is an upcoming Tamil romantic drama film directed by debutant director N. V. Ramkumar. The film features Mahesh and Dhananya in the lead roles, who made their debuts with Angadi Theru and Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum, both critically acclaimed movies, along with Ganja Karuppu, Ilavarasu, Jayaprakash and Manobala in other pivotal roles. Actor Vimal has done a cameo in 'Veyilodu Vilayadu'. The soundtrack and background score for the film was composed by Karthik Raja, while the film is produced jointly by J. Balaguru, S.J. Kumaresan V. Palanivel.

Two villages in Thanjavur area are always at loggerheads with each other and it spills even to T20 cricket match between kids from both the villages. Arikki @ Arivazhagan (Vimal) is a wayward son of Lakshmi (Saranya Ponvannan) who is in awe at the same time fears him. Her husband Ramasamy (Ilavarasu) is away in Dubai and a large part of the money he sends home is taken away by Arikki using extortionist methods like threatening to break the TV set at home. He yet to pass his 12th standard spends his time in bars with his friends, teases girls and asks them to profess their love for him, and gets into brawls after conning others. He meets Maheshwari (Oviya) and wants her to declare her love for him, which she finally confesses. He abducts her and they eventually marry. Her brother Ilango (Thirumurugan) is a tough guy who has an axe to grind against Arikki and his gang, which leads to the twist in the climax. The brother fuming with rage is out to slice him into pieces. But does he do that? And if he didn't, how did Vimal manage to avert that? All this is answered in an interesting climax that is pleasantly humorous.

The story unfolds in a dry barren village. Anbukkarasu (Kishore), the protagonist who wants to excel in his life as a Collector and is an encouraging child, comes across Jeevanandam (Sree Raam), the son of the school teacher Chokkalingam(JayaPrakash), on the first day of school. Jeeva develops instant dislike for Anbu. The good-hearted Anbu tries to befriend Jeeva. However, Jeeva continues to hate Anbu with a passion. Enter Manonmani (Dharini), Jeeva's cousin, who develops affinity towards Anbu. This only makes Jeeva detest Anbu further. Not only Anbu excels in academics but also in extracurricular activities, contributes to widening the rift between the two.Anbu's parents have diiferent opinions at Life which develops fight between them and also turns out to be a positive for Jeeva to hurt Anbu further.
