"Waiting for Santa" (known as: "Barney's Happy Christmas" in Australia) was the first Barney and the Backyard Gang Christmas Eve special. Released on video in 1990, it features an array of traditional Christmas songs as well as new arrangements.
Synopsis
Everyone is asleep in Michael's house on Christmas Eve, well, except for him and his sister, Amy. They try to stay up to wait for Santa. They fall asleep, but are soon awakened because Barney has gotten stuck trying to go down the chimney. After he is released, he magically brings the other kids there and then explains that Derek, a new boy in the neighborhood, is worried that Santa won't be able to see him. In addition, it's stated that he really wishes for some new friends more than anything else. Barney takes the gang to his house to get him and then they go on a magical sleigh ride to the North Pole to prove that Santa knows his new address. At the North Pole, they meet a snowman as well as go ice skating on a frozen pond. Afterwards, they meet Mrs. Claus and she proves to Derek that his new address is in Santa's computer and therefore he'll be able to visit him. After some fun in Santa's workshop, they return home and Barney reads "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (also known as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas") to Michael and Amy. Little do they know that Santa is visiting while Barney is reading and soon they fall asleep. At the very end, a silhouette of Santa flies over the moon, shouting "Ho ho ho.

Only one man stood against that decision. He pitied the infant, and took it as his own and raised him in Japan. But Daigoro grew too large and too expensive to feed. The man made Daigoro an icon for a business. Elsewhere Goliath, a monster who had been trapped in an asteroid for a long time, went to Earth and battled Daigoro. Goliath eventually defeated Daigoro by striking him with lightning from his horn. Goliath then left to pillage the world, leaving Daigoro to die. Daigoro recovered and practiced daily for his next battle against Goliath. After an intense fight, Daigoro breathed his fire ray and managed to defeat Goliath. The humans then grabbed Goliath while he was still weak and strapped him to a rocket and launched him into space.

Contrairement au texte original, le lien entre les contes n'est pas assuré par les interactions entre les pèlerins, mais par la seule personne de Chaucer, que l'on voit occupé à leur rédaction.
