Bedi with dialogues and lyrics by Rajendra Krishan. The music was composed by R. D. Burman. Starring Jeetendra and Hema Malini in the lead it had Prem Chopra, Aruna Irani, Kamini Kaushal, Mehmood, S. A. Asokan in supporting roles.
The story revolved around a young prince with socialist ideas who runs away from the palace.Twenty years later, three pretenders arrive each claiming to be the real prince.
Synopsis
This is a film based on a story of kings. Due to disagreements in the King's household, his wife and son (Jeetendra) decide to move away from his kingdom. Years later, the King dies and the palace decides to locate the Prince, so that he can claim his rightful place on the throne. They locate three young men, all claiming to be the prince. The Palace officials put them to the test, and one by one, all of them pass various tests imposed on them, leaving the officials in a quandary, as to who the real prince is between these three young men.Acteurs

Renukadevi is widowed and the mother of a son named Ram. Her husband had indulged in all possible vices, and died. Her father-in-law, Rai, does not want Ram to repeat his father's mistakes, and teaches him all the positive values of the Hindu religion, in particular the contents of the Holy Book "Geeta". As a result, Ram refrains from all known vices, is an expert in yogic exercises, decides to live the life of a celibate, and refuses to marry anyone. When Rai dies, Renuka asks Ram to fulfill his grandfather's last wishes, one of which was to get married. She even arranges his introduction to Aarti, an attractive young woman. But Ram is convinced that marriage is not for him. Renuka is overjoyed when her estranged brother, Gopinath, and his son, Rakesh, return from abroad. With their help she hopes to get Ram marries with Aarti. Then things get complicated when Rakesh falls in love with Aarti. Ram leaves town to attend to business, and circumstances propel Renuka to will her entire estate to Rakesh and change his name to Bharat, with the blessings of a renowned saint named Ishwar Baba. After this ceremony, the people around Renuka start showing their true colors, and after an open-palmed stinging slap from Aarti, Renuka realizes that her place in this house is now worse than that of a lowly servant.

Raju (Rajesh Khanna) is an orphan who is brought up by the people of colony in Juhu area of Bombay. He lives as a son of all residents of the colony and helps them for their financial needs by stealing and because of this he is jailed for some months frequently. He is affectionately called as Raju by Hindus and Khan by Muslims. Prem Singh (Prem Chopra) intends to build a hotel in the colony and compels people to vacate the place or pay Rs.10000 as rent. Actually the land belongs to Neetu the princess of Raigadh. Prem urges Neetu to marry him so that he can own the land of Juhu. But Neetu (Neetu Singh) resists the proposal. Prince Rajeshwar (Rajesh Khanna) is kidnapped by Prem's mother in his childhood to prevent him inherit the wealth of Raigadh palace and make her son the heir for it.

After the death of his first wife, Mr. Verma remarries Durgadevi (Bindu), so that she can look after his son, Ravi (Jeetendra). Subsequently, Durga also gets pregnant and gives birth to a son Kiran. After few years as Mr. Verma passes away, Durga decides to enter into politics with the help of Sewakram (Prem Chopra). Ravi becomes the managing director of his firm and falls in love with a typist Usha (Madhuri Dixit). Durgadevi first disagrees with the marriage but finally agrees. Bharathi plays an deserted wife to (Vinod Mehra). She abandons her newly born son outside of a temple where he is rescued by a rikshawala (Mehmood). The boy develops polio and the rikshawala feels guilty after a doctor (Sanjeev Kumar) admonishes him. He takes care of the boy and loves him as his own. In the mean time, the boy's real-life parents reconcile and turn to a police officer (Vinod Khanna) for help in finding their missing son. when they find their child the rikshawala does not want to give him up. The policeman urges him to do, as the wealthy parents can pay for an operation that can help the boy walk again. He does sorrowfully. But the boy comes back with his parents to see the rikshawala die. The film ends with Mehmood, the actor, getting up and explaining to the audience that his death was for the camera, but polio is real and deadly and that people should get their children vaccinated.
