The story follows rich businessman Shravan Dhariwal (Sanjay Dutt). Shravan has everything one can dream of having and what he doesn’t have, he buys it. One day, he meets Varsha (Manisha Koirala) and believes her to be his true love. He proposes to her, and she eventually agrees. The couple get engaged, and go on a small holiday. The film revolves around two people. Lal is an ambitious guy who wants to start his own business and make it big in life. Das is a loudmouth, and a very arrogant person. The two manage to get hold of 5000 rupees and they open a vada pav centre. As luck would have it, Lal wins Rs. 2 lakhs in a contest. The duo plan to start a travel agency. Since they do not have enough money to buy a vehicle, they use spare parts of old cars to create a bus. Trusting Das to come up with a good make of a bus, he blindly hands over the prize money to him. Lal manages to get passengers for their first ride. But when the bus comes all hell breaks loose with people demanding their money back.

Johny (Sanjay Dutt) and Jimmy (Saif Ali Khan) are small time crooks who dream of becoming rich. The duo meet in jail where they constantly end up for their misdeeds. A hotel manager, Ballu (Shakti Kapoor) embezzles his company's 30 crores. Johny and Jimmy come to know about it and plan to blackmail him. They join the hotel as waiters and are waiting for the perfect opportunity. But a terrible mobster trio (Mukesh Rishi, Aashif Sheikh and Shiva) kill Ballu. When Johny and Jimmy find Ballu dead, they take his body and present him as alive. They keep doing it until they find the real culprit. Johnny meets Ballu's niece, Puja (Bipasha Basu) and Jimmy meets her friend (Kim Sharma). They all fall in love, and once they all find the real culprit, corpse and a map to direct the money, they all go up on a chase together to find the money, with the three mobsters after them also handing for the money. They all get there, only to find the mobsters have already arrived there and took all the money. They reach the mobster's hideouts, and take all the money. The three then come to meet Jimmy and Johny, and since they do not give them the money, the three kidnap Puja. Jimmy and Johny go to rescue her, by giving the money to the mobsters. They get there, have a brawl, and eventually, the police enters. The three mobsters get arrested, Johny and Puja get married, as well as Jimmy and Puja's friend, and live a happy and clean life with all her uncle's money.

Ajay (Sohail Khan) is head of his college gang named Aryans. A girl named Ayesha (Sameera Reddy) to which Ajay is introduced and become friends. Gradually, Ajay and Ayesha falls in love with each other. This enrages Ayesha's father (Kabir Bedi) because of his status. Ajay challenges to get Ayesha back to him in nick time. Mr.Verma's friend and business partner Chopra (Dalip Tahil) too gets enraged and decides to finish off Ajay, but Chopra has an ulterior motive, Chopra's son (Raja Bherwani) to get married by Ayesha only to get Verma family's wealth. So Chopra appoints a notorious criminal Bhaijaan (Sanjay Dutt) to finish off Ajay. But Bhaijaan refuses as he do not do any wrong deeds in month of Ramadan. So Bhaijaan appoints his two head henchmen Munna (Rajpal Yadav) & Chhote (Sarfaraz Khan). Ajay at first empowers them during a fight but no sooner the formers appoint a gang to beat up Ajay brutally and left him dead on streets. Soon Ajay recovers from his injuries and enters Verma's mansion. An enraged Ajay challenges Verma to get back Ayesha at any cost. Verma too keeps a condition, if within 24 hours he didn't get back to Ayesha, he will have to get out of her life forever. Ajay accepts this deal. Chopra again plans a conspiracy and arrests Ajay without any crime. The police inspector (Aashif Sheikh) first beats Ajay and the inspector gets equally beaten up brutally and Ajay runs from the jail. Now Chopra calls Chhote to kill Ajay and promises to give him loads of money but Chhote replies that Ramadan is ended and Bhaijaan will finish Ajay. This conversation gets taped by Ayesha's little sister. Ajay gets surrounded by henchmen and knocks each one but interrupted by Bhaijaan. Just before Bhaijaan is about to kill Ajay, the former says he is a lover and will die once. This made Bhaijaan save Ajay. The reason was Bhaijaan had a brother Irfan who committed suicide because Bhaijaan didn't care for his feelings. During Eid ul Fitr Bhaijaan thanks Allah for giving a boy like Ajay in turn of his deceased brother and decides to help him. The very day, Ajay arrives to the Verma's mansion within 24 hours and decides to stop the wedding of Raman and Ayesha. Bhaijaan, who has a change of heart and helps him but soon interrupted by Chhote. Chhote disobeys Bhaijaan and soon a fight ensues. Bhaijaan requests Ajay to go but he is beaten up badly. Ajay, interrupts wedding and points gun on Verma. Soon Ajay and Ayesha gets married. Just about Verma is about to kill Ajay, Mini plays the tape of the deal to her father and soon Chopra and Raman are kicked off. Bhaijaan kills all the henchmen and finally slits Munna and Chhote with a sword. The film ends on a happy note with Ayesha and Ajay are united and Bhaijaan reconciles with Ajay.

Then Vishal was telling the Commissioner (Shivaji Satham), about Arun and him being his duplicate when he is shot by Lehkraj's son because he is on his father's side. Then Vishal goes into a coma and then the Commissioner makes a scheme with Arun to portray him as Vishal in the world's eyes so criminals have a fear of Vishal. When the Commissioner was talking with Arun, Sapna comes and the Commissioner tells Arun to hide behind the one-way transparent mirror. When Sapna comes, Arun instantly falls in love at first sight. When she was seeing through the mirror she did not see Arun but he saw her. Then the Commissioner tells Vishals family that Arun is Vishal. Arun's two friends, pooja (Mahima Chaudhry) (who loves Arun but Arun doesn't love her back), and Okay (Johnny Lever). Pooja cries and adamantly asks the Commissoner to tell her the whereabouts of Arun. Time passes by and Vishal comes back from coma and Sapna is shocked and starts to hate Arun because of him not being Vishal and not telling her. Then as time passes, Arun keeps coming back because Vishal needs to be concentrating on his criminals and Sapna so he tells Arun to look after Sapna. One day Sapna tells Arun that "she spent time with Arun" thinking that whom she talking to is Vishal (but it is actually Arun she is talking to). She then starts to love Arun. Then Pooja finds out that Arun loves Sapna and Pooja is heartbroken. Sapna comes to Arun and asks him what should she do. He tells her that he does not deserve her but Vishal does. Vishal's and Sapna's marriage is arrange and the Commissioner finds out that the uncle of Vishal is the one who is terrorizing the city and Vishal is informed by him. Then the uncle shoots Arun trying to shoot Vishal. His uncle and his son are arrested and Arun survives. Just as he is leaving, he is stopped by Vishal and is told why is he leaving without Sapna. Then it is revealed that when Pooja was telling Arun that Sapna loves Arun, she was actually talking to Vishal.Then Vishal unites Arun and Sapna. In the end, Vishal goes his own way, and so does Pooja.
