Ballu (Sanjay Dutt), est un audacieux séduisant criminel recherché pour une multitude de crimes. L'inspecteur Ram (Jackie Shroff) réussit à l'arrêter après le meurtre d'un politicien, mais Ballu lui échappe immédiatement. Pour l'aider à restaurer sa réputation, sa fiancée Ganga (Madhuri Dixit) décide de passer incognito du côté de Ballu. La situation se complique, lorsque celui-ci tombe amoureux d'elle, sentiment au moins en partie partagé, et finit par la démasquer. À mesure que le film progresse, Ballu reprend contact avec ses anciens complices et une série de flash-back révèle comment ceux-ci l'ont entraîné dans une vie criminelle en faisant le malheur de sa famille.

Deven Yuvvraaj (Salman Khan) is a struggling singer who Dr. Banton (Boman Irani), his girlfriend Anushka’s (Katrina Kaif) father dislikes because he is not wealthy and is rather careless at times. He signs an agreement to become a billionaire in 40 days. To acquire this wealth, he has to go through an emotional roller coaster journey of joy and pain with his two estranged brothers, Gyanesh Yuvvraaj (Anil Kapoor) and Danny Yuvvraaj (Zayed Khan), who he meets after 12 years. On meeting them, he is shocked to see that his father has left everything to the mentally-challenged Gyanesh. So both Danny and Deven make an agreement to scam their brother out of his money. Danny's attempt to blackmail Gyanesh to make him lie in front of some lawyers fails and he assaults Gyanesh. Deven intervenes and plays the good guy and helps Gyanesh and takes him to Austria in an attempt to win him. There Anushka and Gyanesh get on very well and she is amazed by his singing talent. She lets him into her orchestra which is due to perform in front of thousands of people. Deven gets jealous as Anushka and Gyanesh get on so well but soon learns to love his brother.

Raju Malhotra (Emraan Hashmi) and Rajan Malhotra (Tusshar Kapoor) study in the same college but are poles apart in everything. While Raju is a brat, poor in studies but good in sports, Rajan is a brilliant student but a zero in extracurricular activities. The college they study in has a new and strict principal Mr. Awasthi (Paresh Rawal) who wants to transform this ill-reputed college into a most flocked one. Hence he divides the students according to their merit. So while Raju is fit for C section, for poorly faring students, Rajan easily gets access to the A section with his 90% marks.
