His films are known for the racy screenplays with extensive action sequences backed with subtle romance. He is the son of late actor N. S. Rao who was a comedian in Kannada films.

Raghava (Upendra) is a typical jobless youth who spends his days playing cricket with friends. He suffers from an irrational fear of ghosts, and retreats to the safety of his home after sunset. So great is his fear, that he prefers to sleep with his mother (Umashri) and have her accompany him to the bathroom at night. Guru (Yogesh), an unemployed youth is a carefree guy. He meets Priya (Aindrita) in a temple and instantly falls for her. Surya (Darshan) and Vidya (Reema Vohra) are orphan siblings who are mistreated by the local goons. They are left to earn their living by begging on the streets. Vidya comes across an orphanage organizer and he takes her as an intern much to the respite of Surya who decides to stay away from her for her benefit. After 15 years, the now adult Surya, a cop, is on a mission to lookout for Vijayendra Varma and his team, who were the killers of his guardian (Avinash). Krisha owns an old bus and he is facing lot of problems due to the pathetic condition of the bus. He sold many valuable things to maintain this bus. His friend Sundar was his only companion. A mouse was also there as a character. It ate the passport of Sundar and Sundar went after that mouse. The story took a turn when Gayathri entered the bus as a nomad. She was actually the daughter of a minister. Her father forced her to join politics. So she left home. The police traced her out and had taken her back. Her father was making arrangements for her marriage with someone else. Meanwhile Krisha realised that he cannot live without Gayathri. Krisha and Sundar secretly entered her house and finally all ended well by winning the heart of her father.
