Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vijayashanti play the lead roles and the music was composed by Bappi Lahiri. Nippu Ravva and Bangaru Bullodu, also starring Balakrishna, were released on the same day and ran for over 100 days. The film recorded as Super Hit at box office.

A story begins with a swashbuckling thief Surendra (Nandamuri Balakrishna), also a master of disguise, who always targets Vidhatha (Charan Raj) dictator of the city and he is being tracked down by SP Indrani (Sharada), an efficient Police officer. Sesha Ratnam (Sarada) is very rich and headstrong women in the village Nakkabokkalapaadu. Even her husband Veera Bhadrayya (Kaikala Satyanarayana) Fears Her. They have two daughters Shobha and Neeru. Anjali Devi is Veera Bhadrayya’s Mother. Venkateswara Rao/Venkanna (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is the grand son of Anjali Devi and Nephew to Veera Bhadrayya. Sesha Ratnam doesn’t get well with her mother-in-law and never allows any of husband’s relatives to enter into her house. Veera Bhadrayya wants one of her daughters to get married to his nephew Venkateswara Rao. But Sesha Ratnam opposes the proposal. Venkateswara Rao promises his grandmother that he will marry one of Veera Bhadrayya’s daughters and unite the families. Venkanna comes to nakkbokkalapadu to make one of Sesha Ratnam’s Daughters to fall For him. But in the process, both the girls fall for him. Madhu (Chiranjeevi) is a painter who becomes a drunkard since his wife is killed immediately after their marriage in an accident. He leads a careless life until a kid (Baby Sujitha) who is deaf and vocally challenged (dumb), enters his life. He names him Raja and takes care of him however, he doesn't stop drinking. Raja's parents are murdered by Venu (Raghuvaran) and his assistant and Raja is the witness to murder who is tried to be getting rid of by them. Geeta (Vijayashanti) meets the kid in a shopping place and mistakes him to be Madhu's son and fights with them when the kid accidentally breaks her just bought gift and later realises her mistake and comes to apologise to Madhu's house. She befriends the kid and gradually falls for Madhu. Later she comes to know that the kid is none other than her sister's (Rajyalakshmi) son and she was murdered. Madhu is accused of murder and kidnap, and is arrested by Inspector (Prabhakar). But they realise that he is not the actual killer and is released. However Venu and his assistant keep trying to kill the kid and they are almost successful when Madhu is out drunk one night but saves him in the last minute. This changes him and he gives up drinking. The rest of the story is how the villains are slain and Madhu and Geetha marry and adopt the kid.

Ravi Teja (Chiranjeevi) is an industrialist, who owns a textile company. He is a successful person in business but his personal life lacks harmony and peace. Tortured by his wife Madhavi and her mother, he finds life miserable. He will slowly fall for his beautiful Personal Assistant Priyamvada Bhanupriya. Meanwhile, his opponents cannot digest his success in business and plan to stop him from getting yet another business deal. Here, he meets Nagaraju (Chiranjeevi), who is a small-time thief. Ravi Teja is saved by Nagaraju and he plans to exchange their positions, so that his problems can be solved forever. Nagaraju agrees, and teaches madhavi, her mother, and Ravi Teja's enemies a lesson. Ravi Teja faces a strange situation of leading a thief's lifestyle. He encounters Radhika, who is also a small time thief. In the end, they both reveal their true identities and end the story on a happy note.

Veerabhadraiah (Raogopal Rao) is a feudal lord presiding over a village along with his hench men which includes his assistant (Rallapalli) and the village sarpanch (Nutan Prasad). Veerabhadraiah lends money to Venkateswarlu (P. L. Narayana) who is a local farmer living with his widowed daughter (Sangeetha). His son, Sooryam (Chiranjeevi) is a hard working student living in the nearby city and falls in love with Veerabhadraiah's daughter- Madhulatha (Madhavi). Realising this Veerabhadraiah asks Venkateswarlu to ask his son to stop seeing his daughter to which Venkateswarlu does not agree. Veerabhadraiah kills Venkateswarlu and asks Sooryam to pay the money which he had given as a loan. Sooryam asks for some time and with the help of his elder sister raises crops to repay. Just as the crops are ready for harvest Veerabhadraiah and his hench men not only destroy the crop but also try to sexually abuse Sooryam's sister during which she commits suicide. Being the village head, Veerabhadraiah implicates Sooryam in the death of his sister saying that he was forcing her into prostitution due to which his sister commits suicide. Sooryam is arrested by the Police. The rest of the movie deals with how Sooryam escapes from jail and with the help of Dr. Sujatha (Sumalatha) avenges the decimation of his family.

Bose (Chiranjeevi) is a very patriotic man who fights for the rights of the local market workers against Aatma (Sharat Saxena), the nearby underworld don. Seeing his dedication for helping the working poor, the Chief Minister (Gummadi Venkateswara Rao) asks him to enter politics. As a politician, he takes charge of a special branch of commandos and destroys Aatma's illegal operations. In retaliation Aatma has Bose's sister falsely implicated in a prostitution case, after which she commits suicide on the court steps. Bose resigns from his position and takes revenge on Aatma. Finally, he returns to his old life at the market.
