Adidhadi is an Indian Tamil film released in 2004. It starred Sathyaraj, Abbas, Napoleon and Rathi in the lead roles. It was directed by Shivraj It was later remade as Political Rowdy in 2005 with Mohan Babu, Charmee Kaur and Prakash Raj enacting the roles of Sathyaraj, Rathi and Napoleon respectively. Abbas reprises his role in the Telugu film.

Synopsis

Sathyaraj is a rowdy who commands respect from state heads like CM. He hates women and remains a bachelor even at the age of 50.A naughty college student (Rathi) grabs the attention of Sathyaraj though a beauty contest and there he falls in love with her and proposes to her.Then the life of her turned into a disaster, because she gets touchered by Sathyaraj and his henchmen.With the help of his brother (Napoleon) Sathyaraj changes his appearance to look younger. To escape from this problem, the heroine contacts her boyfriend (Abbas). The rest is all about how all ends well.

The film begins with police arriving at Sivanandi's (Sathyaraj) house questioning him about killing his daughter Lathapandi (Sri Divya) because she ran away with the guy she loved. The movie opens in an engineering college in Ooty with a narration of the characters. Rajiv Samuel (Abbas) is a computer engineering student and is one of the top students in the college, whereas Rajesh (R. Madhavan) is a mechanical engineering student who is the bad guy of the college. A mutual problem between the two groups led by both Samuel and Rajesh puts both Sam and Rajesh at loggerheads and they pull pranks on each other to get the other in trouble. It culminates into a fist fight but is soon broken up their friends. In the fight, Rajesh punches Sam in the face, which is against the rule, and Sam promises to return the favor in future. They graduate from the college soon and promise to not see each other ever again. Sam goes abroad for job, while Rajesh stays back in India saying that he does not want to leave his motherland.
