Synopsis
Ramji (Madhavan), a naive and docile village cook dreams of marrying his sister to a good family, as they are orphans and it becomes his sole responsibility. As per convention he has to shell out dowry for the marriage and somehow falls short of the agreed sum. Incidentally the groom's family happens to admire the food cooked by Ramji and plan to send him to London as a cook for multi millionaire London based Indian family. In return he has to send part of his salary as a compensation for the dowry he owes.Acteurs

Ambujakshi alias "Ambu" (Trisha), a film actress, arrives in Europe to spend the vacations with her friend Deepa (Sangeetha), a divorcee and her two children. While going in a taxi, Ambu recalls an early incident regarding her ex-boyfriend Madanagopal alias Madan (Madhavan), a wealthy entrepreneur: Three years ago, she was shooting for a film with actor Surya in a bright park and Madan was suspicious of her relationship with the actor. While returning, he lets Ambu drive his new car. Madan advised Ambu to stop acting, but Ambu claimed it as her profession which she can't give up, leading to an argument that caused their car to crash near a rock. At the same time they blamed a small white car that just passed by, to be the reason for the crash. Unable to bear any more arguments, Ambu broke her relationship with Madan and walked away.

The movie opens in an engineering college in Ooty with a narration of the characters. Rajiv Samuel (Abbas) is a computer engineering student and is one of the top students in the college, whereas Rajesh (R. Madhavan) is a mechanical engineering student who is the bad guy of the college. A mutual problem between the two groups led by both Samuel and Rajesh puts both Sam and Rajesh at loggerheads and they pull pranks on each other to get the other in trouble. It culminates into a fist fight but is soon broken up their friends. In the fight, Rajesh punches Sam in the face, which is against the rule, and Sam promises to return the favor in future. They graduate from the college soon and promise to not see each other ever again. Sam goes abroad for job, while Rajesh stays back in India saying that he does not want to leave his motherland.

C'est l'histoire de trois amis d'enfance, Raj, Pooja et Tina. Raj déménage avec sa famille pour aller habiter et étudier à Londres, laissant derrière lui ses deux meilleures amies. Après avoir lu quelques courriels de Raj, Tina se lasse et oublie même son existence, tandis que Pooja ne cesse de lui écrire en signant Tina. Quinze ans plus tard, lorsque Pooja apprend le retour de Raj, elle se sent piégée et demande à Tina de prétendre lui avoir écrit durant toutes ces années. Malgré l'accueil réservé de Tina et son comportement fantasque et inattendu, Raj est amoureux d'elle. Bien qu'indifférente à Raj, Tina est séduite par son physique et sa gentillesse et en tombe peu à peu amoureuse. Le père de Raj promet au père de Tina, son ami, que leurs deux enfants se marieront. Mais les choses changent quand Raj découvre la vérité au sujet de Pooja : il se rend alors compte que c'est elle qui n'a jamais cessé de penser à lui, combien ils se connaissent bien et partagent les mêmes goûts et les mêmes souvenirs, combien c'est Pooja qu'il aime et non Tina. Ils vivent alors à Londres, où Pooja a décidé d'étudier, des moments de pur bonheur et décident d'annoncer leurs fiançailles à leurs deux familles. Les choses se corsent à leur retour, quand ils découvrent que le père de Tina est mort en laissant celle-ci orpheline. Pooja convainc Raj, le cœur déchiré, de taire la vérité et d'épouser Tina, afin que sa meilleure amie soit heureuse.
