Makante Achan (Malayalam: മകന്റെ അച്ഛൻ, English: The Son's Father) is a 2009 Malayalam film starring Sreenivasan, Vineeth Sreenivasan, and Suhasini in the lead roles and Salim Kumar, Bindu Panicker in supporting roles. It was directed by V.M. Vinu, written by Samjad Narayanan, and produced by Seven Arts International Ltd. with G. P. Vijayakumar serving as the executive producer.

Synopsis

Viswanathan (Sreenivasan) is a village officer. He wants to make his son Manu (Vineeth Sreenivasan), an engineer. But manu wants to become a singer. Viswanatahan sends him to a coaching centre principled by KC Francis (Thilakan). Manu often tells his mother (Suhasini) to allow him to go and participate in reality shows. But Viswanathan doesn't agree with it. When the exam result come, Manu fails. Viswanathan calls him a cheater and slaps him. Manu leaves his house. After two days Viswanathan finds out that Manu is working as a waiter in a hotel. Viswanathan's heart is broken and he becomes a drunkard. But Manu also participates in a reality show.

Pallavoor Devanarayana Pothuval aka Devan (Mammootty) who is a talented drummer. People flock to the festivals just to see him play the drums with utmost devotion. Balettan is the story of Athaniparampil Balachandran (Mohanlal) who is known for his service in the society. His father (Nedumudi venu) is a retired postmaster. He lives with his wife Radhika (Devayani) and two children. Circumstances turn him as a debtor and he is arrested in a cheating case but he manages to solve all those problems with his father's pension money. One day a stranger (Riyaz khan) comes to meet Balachandran .He introduces himself as Bhadran and ask his help for marrying her sister. Balachandran gets angry and this leads to a violence in the house and his father asks him to leave the house. On the next day while travelling in a bus his father has a heart attack and is admitted to hospital. Later he calls Balachandran and reveals that he has another family. Balachandran, on hearing this shocking fact is stood shock stricken unable to accept his father's words while his father suffers another cardiac arrest which leads to his death. In his death bed he asks Balachandran to take care of his second family and also request that his mother should never come to know about this. The rest of the story tells how Balachandran manages to solve all the problems.
