Synopsis
Parameshi (played by Ramesh Bhat) is happily married to Ramamani (played by Arundhati Nag), and have a son called Paapu. He works for a small time firm dealing in wallpaper distribution, where his colleagues are gossip mongers. One amongst them is Simha, an office peon, who indulges in gambling bets with the employees of a leading law firm on Bangalore's prestigious MG Road. Parameshi, being a simpleton, is unaware of what his colleagues are up to. He falls prey to Simha's bet and ends up going out with a female colleague. Ramamani does not like Parameshi's going out with another woman and confronts him. Parameshi scoffs and suggests there is nothing wrong with socializing and he would be okay if Ramamani also goes out with another guy.Acteurs

Katte (Shankar Nag) and Prabhakar Rao / Tatha (Loknath) are petty thieves who can't seem to get a break in life. Their criminal past does not leave them wherever they go. To make it big, they resort to their past and start jumping unsuspecting passers by on National Highways and relieving them of their automobiles. Disassembling the auto parts, they sell them for money and often duping people on their way.

The plot essentially involves a love story between Ganesha, alias Y. G. Rao, and Adi Lakshmi, alias Shruti, who initially do not know the true identity of each other. Ganesha lives in a Vatara (housing complex) owned by Ramanamurthy. Shastri, known for his love of beer, is his roommate. Ramanamurthy maintains a traditional Hindu middle class household. His elder daughter has eloped with a lover and he does not approve of this. Eventually, he gets her to hold a traditional wedding, even though she has been married already in a civil marriage and has two children, to accept her back as a daughter. In order to prevent a similar fate for his younger daughter, Adilakshmi, he wants to find a match for her to perform an arranged marriage. His friend, Govinda (who is also Ganesha's father), in the meanwhile, arrives in Bangalore from Mysore, with his cricket-crazy wife (played by Vaishali Kasaravalli). Govinda and Ramanamurthy find out that both their children would make a good match for each other and decide to hold an engagement for them.
