Synopsis
Balachandran Unnithan (Jayaram) is a singer who falls in love with Ambika, a singer from his own troupe. They both end up getting married. Balachandran's family has been longing for a male child to inherit the family's wealth, but his elder brothers were having only female children. Ambika gets pregnant. Balachandran realizes that his wife is carrying a daughter, and not a son.Acteurs

Payyarathu Padmanabhan Nair(Kalamandalam Kesavan), who is a well known personality is Praised by the people. He lives precedence life with his whole family members(Kootukudumbam), his Friend Reeve Sankunni(Oduvil Unnikrishnan) and Servant Kuttan(Kalabhavan Mani). He loves his family more than his life but they eyes on his wealth. On the day of his niece Meenakshi's wedding day he meets with a young man Ramanathan(Jayaram). Ramanathan be friends with him and Padmanabhan Nair likes Ramanathan's qualities. It was later revealed that Ramanathan is the son of Padmanabhan Nair and Sankunni's younger sister Saudamini. Slowly Ramanathan gets into the family to stay with his father. There he strikes with Payyarathu Padmanabhan Nair's neice and his cousin Gopika(Divya Unni) and she dislikes him as the other family members too. The men of the family sells the kitchen's rice and other goods without Padmanabhan Nair's knowledge. Ramanathan and Sankunni came know about this. They tries to prevent this action. The family members reveals the truth to Padmanabhan Nair that Ramanathan is Sankunni's nephew and they thrown out of the house. Later Padmanabhan Nair asks Sankunni 'Who is Ramanathan ?' and Sankunni reveals the truth. Padmanabhan Nair rushes to his son and hugs him. But he is in delema that he wanted to accept his son but he can't reveal the truth to the family to save his reputation. The hurted Ramanathan Challenges his father he will accept and tell the truth to whole family.

Appu (Jayaram) and Maya (Manju Warrier) were childhood sweethearts, and their parents had agreed to their marriage. Appu is treated by Maya's father as his own son and this makes her uncle jealous of him. Maya's mother belongs a branch of local royal family. However, Maya's life turns upside down when she is identified as the heir to her mother's royal family after her horoscope matched with the qualities that the royal family was looking for. The Maharaja proposed to adopt her as heir princess to continue the lineage. Greed and position, makes her father looking ways to get rid of Appu, who might stand an obstacle and er Uncle then forces her to hate Appu in order for her to marry someone from the royal family. Meanwhile Appu and his best friend Mani (Kalabhavan Mani) try to win her back by disguising himself as Veerandran Varma, nephew of the King whom none of them have seen before, being the son of King's estranged sister Padmini(Sreevidya). In meantime, the real Veerandra Varma (Biju Menon) came to the Palace, on a mission to steal the royal crown. Veerendran Varma was a spoil brat and was a famous rouge in Delhi, earning him the title as Dilliwala Rajakumaran.

Mahadevan (Jayaram) and Kumaran (Janardhanan) work in a small firm and are room mates renting from Janakiamma (Meena). One day, luck comes to them when Mahadevan wins a car as the first prize of a promotional contest held by a washing-powder brand. Meanwhile, a murderer, Ambrose (Abu Salim) is after Maya. By mistake, both the murderer and Mahadevan get the same tag number on their cars' license plates. The murderers try a hit-and-run attack on Maya, but she escapes. She thinks that Mahadevan who did it. Mahadevan gets arrested by sub-inspector Cherian (Kalabhavan Mani) according to Maya's complaint. But due to lack of proper evidence, he's released with a warning. After getting through problems one after another, Mahadevan finds the real killers and their car. He tells Maya about the killers who attempted for her life. Shockingly it is revealed that one of the killers is Maya's Vishnu who is after her wealth. Vishnu tries to kill Maya, but Mahadevan stops him. In an attempt to kill Mahadevan and Maya, Vishnu dies by falling on a sharp object. In an attempt to dump his body, the couple is stopped by Vishnu's accomplice, Ambrose. He's enraged by his friend's death and tries to kill Mahadevan and Maya. But ends up at the dead end of the road, where the cops were waiting for him with an armed force. The car catches fire from the gunshots and explodes, killing him. The film ends with sub-inspector Cherian thanking Mahadevan and Maya, for their help and support.
