The film was remade in Telugu as Manasunna Maaraju with Rajasekhar and in Tamil as Sound Party with Sathyaraj. The film was dubbed to Tamil as "Aranmanaikaran".
Synopsis
The film tells the story of a rich orphan - Apputtan, a generous and liberal man. He helps settle the financial woes of people in the village. He is attracted to a girl whose education he has been sponsoring. But her response to his love after becoming a doctor at his expense, was something Apputtan had least expected. As Apputtan has studied only up to high school, she treats him like an illiterate. The film ends well with the girl developing interest towards Apputtan.Acteurs

Appu (Jayaram) and Maya (Manju Warrier) were childhood sweethearts, and their parents had agreed to their marriage. Appu is treated by Maya's father as his own son and this makes her uncle jealous of him. Maya's mother belongs a branch of local royal family. However, Maya's life turns upside down when she is identified as the heir to her mother's royal family after her horoscope matched with the qualities that the royal family was looking for. The Maharaja proposed to adopt her as heir princess to continue the lineage. Greed and position, makes her father looking ways to get rid of Appu, who might stand an obstacle and er Uncle then forces her to hate Appu in order for her to marry someone from the royal family. Meanwhile Appu and his best friend Mani (Kalabhavan Mani) try to win her back by disguising himself as Veerandran Varma, nephew of the King whom none of them have seen before, being the son of King's estranged sister Padmini(Sreevidya). In meantime, the real Veerandra Varma (Biju Menon) came to the Palace, on a mission to steal the royal crown. Veerendran Varma was a spoil brat and was a famous rouge in Delhi, earning him the title as Dilliwala Rajakumaran.

Mahadevan (Jayaram) and Kumaran (Janardhanan) work in a small firm and are room mates renting from Janakiamma (Meena). One day, luck comes to them when Mahadevan wins a car as the first prize of a promotional contest held by a washing-powder brand. Meanwhile, a murderer, Ambrose (Abu Salim) is after Maya. By mistake, both the murderer and Mahadevan get the same tag number on their cars' license plates. The murderers try a hit-and-run attack on Maya, but she escapes. She thinks that Mahadevan who did it. Mahadevan gets arrested by sub-inspector Cherian (Kalabhavan Mani) according to Maya's complaint. But due to lack of proper evidence, he's released with a warning. After getting through problems one after another, Mahadevan finds the real killers and their car. He tells Maya about the killers who attempted for her life. Shockingly it is revealed that one of the killers is Maya's Vishnu who is after her wealth. Vishnu tries to kill Maya, but Mahadevan stops him. In an attempt to kill Mahadevan and Maya, Vishnu dies by falling on a sharp object. In an attempt to dump his body, the couple is stopped by Vishnu's accomplice, Ambrose. He's enraged by his friend's death and tries to kill Mahadevan and Maya. But ends up at the dead end of the road, where the cops were waiting for him with an armed force. The car catches fire from the gunshots and explodes, killing him. The film ends with sub-inspector Cherian thanking Mahadevan and Maya, for their help and support.

Nakshathrakkannulla Rajakumaran Avanundoru Rajakumari revolves around a family that claims that they are the descendants of the brave chekavars, who were the warriors of the Vadakkanpaattu. Bhageerathi Amma (K.R.Vijaya) has two sons, Veerabhadra Kurup (Narendra Prasad) and Kochchukurup (Kalabhavan Mani), and a daughter Subhadra (Sicily), who constantly feud with each other. But he turns against the lovers on the advice of his father. Suddenly, Raziya Begum (Anjali Krishna) turns up, claiming to be Karthik’s lover. Ananthu and his gang use this opportunity to fix Karthik, and Kochukurup gives them a lot of muscle support. After a lot of buffoonery and mistaken identity, the couple are united. The movie was the debut of Actor 'Prithviraj'. This film is a box office disaster.
