The movie is still remembered for its song Tu is tarah se meri zindagi mein shamil hai which is sung by three Singers in three Singles. Two Singles by Manhar Udhas and Hemlata are in slow rhythm. One single by Mohammad Rafi is in fast rhythm.
Synopsis
Orphaned at a very young age, Varsha Oberoi, lives a wealthy lifestyle with her paternal uncle, Jain Oberoi, in Bombay, and has traveled world-wide. She is in love with Vijay, a middle-classed young man, who runs a small furniture store, badly in debt, and lives with his widowed mom, a younger brother, Deepu, and sister, Nanhi, who are very friendly with Varsha. Then Vijay is reunited with his childhood friend, Vikram Chawla, who is welcomed with open arms by the entire family. It is then Vijay's life turns around, he starts getting a lot of orders, gets out of debt, is able to buy a jeep to replace his motorbike, and moves to a comfortable bungalow. Then Vijay's life is turned upside down when he finds out that Vikram and Varsha are getting engaged. He meets with Varsha, who flats tells him that she prefers marrying someone richer and wealthier. Angrily he confronts Vikram, who counsels him that Varsha had never really loved him.Acteurs

Arun (Sachin), the son of a Barrister, and self-proclaimed prince of the male students finds his pride and huge ego crushed when he stands second in the Terminal Examination. He loses to Lily Fernandes, the simple and modest daughter of an ordinary nurse in a private nursing home. Arun takes this as a defeat, who then decides to nurse a personal vendetta to try and crush Lily's growing popularity in school. Shanno (Nutan) is devoted to Lord Krishna alias Kanhaiya, and often wanders off alone in the woods dancing and singing to the flute notes of her Kanhaiya. She accidentally meets Kanhaiya (Raj Kapoor), the village drunk and falls in his arms assuming him to be her ‘Kanhaiya’ – Lord Krishna. The gossip spreads that Kanhaiya and Shanno are having an affair, and in order to stay in the same village, they must get married. Shanno, still under the misconception regarding Kanhaiya is thrilled and gives her consent. During the marriage Shanno is shocked when she realises who "Kanhaiya" really is - the town drunk and idler who has taken advantage of her love for Lord Krishna, and now insists on marrying her. What the Village Panchayat does when Shanno refuses to marry Kanhaiya and is even ready to light herself on the funeral pyre to prove her piety, and how they cope when the village is swamped with plague, forms the basis for the rest of the story.

Ravi Varma (Navin Nischol) loses his parents in childhood and wife Rajni in an accident. He keeps himself immersed in business. His family physician advises him to take a holiday for rest. Lalita (Madhuri Dixit) catches the eye of JB (Raj Babbar) and he immediately falls in love with her and decides that he must have her. Her uncle Madhi arranges for them to marry but he is only doing this because JB is paying him to. When she refuses, JB kidnaps her and keeps her in his home until the day of the wedding. She is literally watched over by JB every day in case she tries to escape. On the day of the wedding, Lalita faints and uses this to escape. She also moves her mother away and barely escapes JB who assumes that she has been killed after he saw her being hit by a car. In fact, Lalita swapped her wedding dress with someone else, so the person that JB saw being hit by the car was not Lalita.
