Adhipathi (Telugu: అధిపతి) is a 2001 Telugu film directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty and produced by Mohan Babu on his Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner. Starring Mohan Babu, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Preeti Jhangiani and Soundarya in the lead roles and music composed by Koti. The film is a remake of Malayalam film Narasimham.

Synopsis

Yogi (Mohan Babu) is the son of a High Court judge (Vijay Kumar). A politician (Narra) falsely implicates yogi, who got the first rank in Civil services examinations, in a murder case. The judge father gives the judgment for son by jailing Yogi for six years. By the time Yogi is released, the politician dies of a natural heart attack. Dharma Rao (Mukesh Rushi), son of that politician, is also a villain. When Dharma Rao visits the shores of Godavari River to leave the ashes, Yogi foils the rites by resisting. Then Dharma Rao challenges Yogi that he is going to mix the ashes of his politician father in the Godavari before Yogi mixes the ashes of his Judge father (who is alive). The rest of the film is about how the villains of the film try to make Yogi's life more miserable and how Yogi comes out unscathed with the help of his childhood friend Jagan (Nagarjuna).

The story is set in the backdrop of rural India. Thakur Bhanupratap Singh (Amitabh Bachchan) is the head of the “Sooryavansh” ancestry in the village of Bharatpur where he is also the distinguished Sarpanch of the local Gram panchayat. The people of Bharatpur reckon Thakur Bhanupratap with great honour and respect for his blue blood and virtuous ideologies. The rivalry between two families splits a village 'Seetaramapuram' into Seetapuram and Ramapuram. Seetapuram head Bhusayya (Nambiar) and Ramapuram head Bhadrayya (Kaikala Satyanarayana). There are two neighboring villages in Rayalaseema. Goons head one village and Raghupati Naidu (K Vishwanath) is heading another village. As Raghupati Naidu is peace-loving, his village is dogged by the misdeeds of goons from the neighboring village. In order to save the future of his village, Raghupati Naidu asks one male kid from each family to be given for the purpose of saving the village. Raghupati Naidu selected his fourth son Narasimha Naidu as his family's contribution towards the security of the village. All these kids will be trained and prepared to protect the village. After 15 years, Anjali (Preeti Jhangiani), the niece of Jaya Prakash, who happens to be from the goons' village who later settled in another village. Narasimha Naidu sets up a naatya ashram to teach classical dance to the students. Anjali falls in love with Narasimha Naidu at the first sight. Anjali joins Narasimha Naidu as the student and tries to make Narasimha Naidu fall in love with her.
