Synopsis
An idealistic journalist (Devgan) gets weary & tired of witnessing the reign of crime, police corruption & injustice in his city & decides to wage a one man war against the psychotic king maker 'Tau' played by the legendary Amrish Puri. His journey costs him his limbs & loved ones as he goes on a vigilante style brute fest right into the lair & dark world of the two faced Tau & his cronies. Nageshwar alias "Don" heads a vast criminal empire. He has an only son, (Ajay Devgn), who is completely familiar with his dad and his business. So is Ajay's wife, who would like to put an end to all these criminal activities. When Nageshwar starts showing signs of ageing, he decides that it is now time for Ajay to take over from him. Kubla(Raza Murad) is a terrorist and would like to rule over India. To do this, he needs vital information about the Indian armed forces, and he recruits an Indian army officer, Vikram(Mohnish Bahl). Street-wise and poor, Amar Nath (Amitabh Bachchan) makes a living selling cinema tickets and fast-food snacks (Bhel Puri) outside cinema halls. He is taken under the wing of a politician and Chair of the "Garibon Ki Party", Shankar Narayan (Kader Khan), allowed to join the Police Academy, and returns as a Police Inspector. It is then that pregnant Asha finds out that Amar is not who he claims to be but is a pawn in the hands of skilled politicians - who have been using him as their hit-man, and now are ready to use him as the Chief Minister so that they can carry on with their nefarious activities. Watch what Asha does to prevent Amar from influencing their newborn son, and from attaining power.

Dutta Babu (Parikshat Sahni) is standing for elections against a cunning, corrupt, & established gangster, Bishamber Prasad (Prem Chopra), who is also powerful and influential enough to swing the election his way, as well as have Dutta killed.
