Ghajini (en tamoul கஜினி) est un film indien de langue tamoule, réalisé par A.R. Murugadoss et sorti le 29 septembre 2005. Il s'agit d'une adaptation libre du film de Christopher Nolan Memento dont il reprend l'idée de départ.
Les interprètes principaux en sont Surya Sivakumar, Asin Thottumkal, Nayantara, Pradeep Rawat et Riyaz Khan. La musique est de Harris Jayaraj.
Le film remporta un énorme succès en 2005 et fut doublé en télougou.
Un remake bollywoodien en hindi, Ghajini, est sorti en 2008, avec Aamir Khan dans le rôle de Surya Sivakumar et Asin Thottumkal dans le même rôle que dans la version tamoule.
La version hindi est tirée à 80 % de celle en tamoul mais des scènes ont été refaites et les effets ont été remodelés pour un meilleur résultat.
Synopsis
Chitra (Nayantara), a medical student and her friends are working on a project about the human brain. She wants to investigate the curious case of Sanjay Ramaswamy (Suriya), a (former) notable Chennai based businessman, who is reported to have anterograde amnesia. Her professor denies access to Sanjay's records as it is currently under criminal investigation. Chitra, nonetheless, decides to investigate the matter herself.Acteurs

Le film raconte l’histoire d’un riche homme d'affaires, Sanjay Singhaniya (Aamir Khan), qui tombe amoureux d'une actrice de film publicitaire, Kalpana (Asin Thottumkal). Alors que cette dernière tente de sauver des jeunes filles séquestrées à Calcutta, elle est sauvagement assassinée par un chef de gang, Ghajini, tandis que Sanjay est durement frappé à la tête en essayant de la protéger. Les blessures subies au cours de cette agression réduisent la mémoire de Sanjay à quinze minutes et pour garder la trace de ses actions, il utilise des notes, des photos et les tatouages réalisés sur son propre corps.

VI siècle dans le sud de l'Inde. Bodhidharma (Suriya), prince Pallava de Kanchipuram, est un expert que ce soit en médecine ou dans les arts martiaux. Envoyé en Chine par le Gurumatha, il est d'abord méprisé par la population, mais après avoir guéri une fillette atteinte d'une maladie qui ravage la région, il devient un personnage très respecté. Il enseigne alors la médecine, la technique de l'hypnose et le kung-fu Shaolin aux moines pour leur permettre de se défendre contre les brigands. Mais, quand quelques années plus tard il souhaite rentrer en Inde, les villageois décident de l'empoisonner et de l'enterrer près du temple, pensant ainsi bénéficier de sa protection contre toute maladie. Bodhidharma accepte son sort et devient peu à peu une des grandes figures de la pensée chinoise.

The story opens with a couple with twins sitting in a train. However, a thief snatches one of the sons, and after stealing the jewellery of the son, leaves the baby. Ramanaa begins with the abduction of fifteen Tehsildars. After three days in captivity, fourteen of the officers get released. However, one of the men gets murdered. The police finds a tape recording and a file from the man's body. This evidence exposes that the kidnapping and subsequent murder were committed by members of the self-proclaimed "Anti-Corruption Force" (ACF), a citizen militia seeking to eliminate corruption by any means necessary. A handicapped Krishna (Suriya) arrives at Mumbai. He, along with a taxi driver (Soori) travel along Mumbai to look for his brother. He then meets a close friend of Raju and tells Krishna that Raju is Raju Bhai (Suriya). He then meets JK and he tells his experience with Raju Bhai and tells him that Raju could have killed him but spared JK. Krishna finally meets Karim Bhai (Joe Malloori) and he tells Krishna that Raju and Chandru (Vidyut Jamwal) were inseparable friends and were growing dons as they emerging in the underworld their enemies too grows. Then a new Commissioner plans to clean the city and kills a few people of Raju's gang. Raju then retaliates this by kidnapping the Commissioner's daughter Jeeva (Samantha) and keeps her as a hostage for a day and when Raju goes to leave her back she tells that she actually doesn't want to go and doesn't want to marry because she didn't love anyone. Both of them then develop love. Things go well until Raju and Chandru invoke the wrath of Imran Bhai (Manoj Bajpai) who is a bigger and more powerful don than them and Chandru keeps chanting what Imran says to him that Imran would 'shoot them like pigs'. Raju then gives Chandru a surprise by capturing Imran. Chandru becomes thrilled about it and gives Raju a surprise by getting him a new car. Raju then meets Jeeva inside. Chandru tells him that he had given Raju a surprise and tells him to stay away for seven days with Jeeva. Raju and Jeeva have a blast. When Raju comes back he sees Chandru murdered in a ghastly manner. A frustrated Raju goes in search of the killers is also shot by his own man, Amar. Krishna then becomes worried. At that very time Amar gets to know that Krishna was looking for him and tries to kill Krishna. Then it is revealed that Krishna is Raju. Raju then fights them and kills Amar. He then goes to find Jackie in a horse race. Jackie tells him to ask Johny. Raju then finds Johny in a shopping mall and Johny tells him that they along with Imran had plotted to kill Chandru when Raju was away. A disappointed Raju kills Johny. Raju then kills one more betrayer in a fight and shoots him. Then Imran's men kidnap Karim Bhai's daughter. When Raju gets there Karim tells him it wasn't his daughter, it was Jeeva. Raju finally battles them and at last kills Imran Bhai. Raju, after rescuing Jeeva, reunites with her and happily leave Mumbai.
