Raghavendra Rao, became the first Telugu film to gross over 100 million rupees at the box office. Though Bollywood was not oblivion to the fact that Telugu films can generate revenue which can match up to or even surpass the collections of Hindi films, the massive collections of Gharana Mogudu literally left Bollywood stunned. This film was premiered at the 1993 International Film Festival of India. The film is a remake of the 1986 hit Kannada film Anuraga Aralithu starring Rajkumar
Synopsis
Raju (Chiranjeevi) is a do-gooder who helps his co-workers in a Visakhapatnam shipyard, but when his mother suffers a paralytic stroke, he moves back to Hyderabad and looks for a job. Uma Devi (Nagma) daughter of industrialist Bapineedu (Raogopal Rao) takes over the business from her father and helps it to reach new heights which also sees her head-strong ways reach new heights. In this scenario, she not only rejects Ranganayakulu's (Kaikala Satyanarayana) son's marriage proposal but insults them when the father-son duo show up at her house. To get their revenge, they send goons to kill Uma Devi. As fate would have it, Bapineedu shows up in the car instead of Uma Devi and is rescued by Raju who asks him for a job which Bapineedu readily agrees to.Acteurs

In Kondaveedu, there is an old Gadwal fort and every one in that village believes that there is a hidden treasure inside. Rao Gopal Rao, a rich man in the village, tries every possible way to explore that treasure. An archeological assistant, Raja (Chiranjeevi), comes to this village in disguise as an ordinary youth in search of a job. He unearths the secret of this hidden treasure. Raja becomes a problem for Raogopalrao by interfering in all his misdeeds.

Nagabhushanam and his son Nagaraju (Satyanarayana) runs smuggling and Illegal transport of forest produce in the Forest. Ramu (NTR) opposes and raises the villagers to fight against him. Padma (Jayaprada) Daughter of Forest officer (Jaggayya) loves him. One tribal lady Chilakamma (Jayasudha) also loves him as a brother. Nagabhushanam takes the help of Jaggu (Sridhar) to sent Ramu away from the forest. Later half reveals that Ramu was in fact a Forest officer in secret mission to investigate the case of Forest affairs. The story finally leads to the arrest of criminals.

Ramu (NTR) is a lorry driver who personally does not tolerate injustice anywhere. With his hard work, he soon becomes a lorry owner. He has a blind sister Meena (Roja Ramani) to whom he is very affectionate. A police inspector by the name of Raja Reddy (Sridhar), admiring Ramu's sincerity and truthfulness, comes forward to marry the blind girl. Meanwhile, Chukkamma (Jayasudha), who runs a small hotel on the highway, and Ramu fall in love with each other. Ramu renders help to one of Chukkamma’s relatives, another lorry driver named Vasu (Kaikala Satyanarayana). They become good friends. Kamal Babu (Mohan Babu) soon enters the scene, implicates Ramu in a smuggling case and succeeds in sending him to jail. How Ramu manages to prove his innocence and brings the story to its logical, happy end constitutes the rest of the narrative.

Manchi Donga, has Chiranjeevi as Veerendra who liked by one and all. Even though he is a thief, Veerendra he follows certain principles. Suryam and Chandram are father and son who are involved in an illegal occupation. Madhavi (Suhasini) who is a lawyer, meets Veerendra and she is attracted towards him for his kindheartedness towards poor people. Vijaya (Vijayasanthi), a friend of Madhavi enters the city as a police inspector. She warns Veerendra for his activities but Madhavi supports him. Once Veerendra steals an evidence from Gannayya, who is also a corrupt person and this has all the details of the activities of Suryam and Chandram. He hands it over to inspector Vijaya. She is very much impressed with his deed and now develops a soft corner for him. After a couple of songs, veerendra decides to marry Vijaya, while Madhavi sacrifices her silent love for her friend. Veerendra surrenders to the police and is sent to jail. He studies in jail and becomes a police inspector. After his release, he deals with anti-social elements with iron hand and also gets sword of honour for his efforts.

Chiru acted as a villain in this Sobhan-Sridevi starrer under the direction of KRR for the first time in his career. Sobhan babu and sridevi, who are in love with each other plan to marry soon. Chiru is a local rowdysheeter in their area who has a relationship with sridevi’s twin sister(dual role). Sridevi tries to keep herself away from his twin sister’s life style and sobhan decides to give her new life by marrying her. But, chiru has his eyes on sridevi also,but gets bashed up by sobhan few times. He develops personal grudge against them.Oneday, when sobhan and sridevi are about to get married in a temple,chiru spots her alone waiting for sobhan and he rapes her. Unable to bear this humiliation, she commits suicide and before she dies, sobhan reaches there and he vows to take revenge. In the end, sobhan kills chiru and is sentenced to death, and we are shown that sobhan meets sridevi in heaven.
