Synopsis
Dilip Kumar plays the role of a man set up and framed for a murder for which he is jailed, because of his scheming son-in-law, Raghuvaran. His Daughter Swapna is also killed at the hands of Raghuvaran, when Raghuvaran slaps and tries to molest Madhuri Dixit, when she confronts him about his evil deeds. Dilip Kumar avenges the death of his daughter and the years spent in prison. Against this backdrop, Govinda is a man who works for the underworld after he is shot as a child by Tej Sapru. After finding love with Madhuri Dixit, Govinda changes his ways and joins up with Dilip Kumar to take revenge as he too has been wronged by the same group of villans.Acteurs

Bharti, a law student, lives with her widower and blind dad. Ravi Shankar Singh is a singer and dancer; Bharti is a fan of him and never misses his music concerts. One day Bharti is shocked to see Ravi being arrested by the police. She finds out that Ravi has confessed to the killing of a man, Rana Singh, and will soon be hanged. Bharti attends Ravi's last concert, but Ravi abducts her and forcibly marries her. After the marriage, Ravi is arrested and appears in court. It is revealed that Ravi and Bharti had conspired together to overturn Ravi's death penalty to life imprisonment, but the court is still not convinced and upholds Ravi's death penalty. Ravi's innocence or guilt is revealed in the climax.

Kishan (Rajesh Khanna) is the spoilt son of a rich businessman. He is a medical student, for whom the life is all about playing pranks and troubling people around. Finally he is taught a lesson in humility by fellow student, Madhu (Hema Malini). He undergoes a dramatic change in outlook and falls in love with her. But his joy is short-lived as Kapilkumar (Danny Denzongpa) kills Madhu as she is the only witness to a murder. On the deathbead, Kishan promises Madhu that he would kill whoever is responsible for the death. Kishan is devastated and carries on a man hunt for KapilKumar. He finally recognizes Kapil in a train and in the ensuing scuffle, Kapil pushes Kishan off the running train. When Kishan regains consciousness, he is amazed to see Madhu (Hema Malini). On following her, he realizes that he is the twin sister of Madhu, Chanchal. He then starts practising medicine in their small village as this was what Madhu wanted to do. With time, Both are drawn towards each other until one day Kapil is in front of them once again. What Kishan does not know is that Kapil is his elder brother who was separated when they were young.
