Young Vijay lives in an orphanage after being separated from his widowed mother, Laxmi. Years later Vijay has grown up and a wealthy man, Kailashnath Gupta, identifies him as his long-lost son and takes him home. Once there, Vijay decides to find employment as a police constable much to Kailashnath's displeasure. Vijay's first assignment is to locate a beautiful young woman's missing father. Rajesh is a scientist. He is injured following instructions of Dr Sharma in a secret experiment & granted leave. Rajesh lives with his dog, cook Bhola and loves Rita. Rajesh goes to meet Rita & asks for her hand from her mother who agrees. He finds his things spread on bed on returning to his hotel room. Shetty fools Bhola & takes pictures of Rajesh's house. Sharma calls him during his leave. He meets Sharma but is surprised to know that Sharma did not call him. He & Sharma quarrel when he asks for leave to marry. Rajesh reaches office on being called by Sharma but finds him murdered. Rajesh goes to call the police & returns with them to find the body missing. Intelligence chief Mr Roy & his assistant Mr D'Mello ask Rajesh to take the murder blame of Sharma so that miscreants after Sharma's research can be caught. Roy devises an escape plan for Rajesh but it goes wrong & Rajesh is kidnapped by Shetty and taken to Mozambique. Rajesh is imprisoned and a look alike named Garson is sent to India. Garson is with blue eyes and a voice different from Rajesh's. Garson uses contact lenses and gets a neck cut to portray lost voice. His unconscious body is found in an Indian sea. Rita accepts him as Rajesh although she has some misgivings after he touches the feet of another lady instead of Rita's mother. Rita is pregnant with Rajesh's baby. Garson is given a similar mole as Rajesh. Rajesh's dog and cook realise what has happened, so Garson kills them to avoid their exposing him. The authorities are also less trusting. Rest needs to be seen.

Sunil is a navy officer, and has had numerous affairs with a number of attractive young women. One day he meets with beautiful Anuradha, and falls in love with her. À la suite du décès de leurs parents, Muskaan (Kajol) et son frère Vishal (Arbaaz Khan) ont été élevés à la campagne par leur oncle et leur tante. Muskaan est aujourd’hui une charmante jeune fille qui souhaite aller étudier à Mumbai. Malgré ses craintes de voir sa sœur perdue dans cette grande ville, son frère accepte et l'accompagne jusqu’à son université où il rencontre le président (Tiku Talsania) pour s’assurer du sérieux de l’établissement et du bien-être de Muskaan. Celle-ci reçoit de nombreuses propositions de mariage de bonnes familles mais Vishal les rejette toutes les unes après les autres. Il fait subir à chaque prétendant un test : le tour de sa propriété à cheval mais qui tourne au drame à chaque fois… Seul celui qui réussira le test pourra épouser Muskaan. Lorsque cette dernière tombe amoureuse de Suraj Khanna (Salman Khan) rencontré à l’université, elle le présente à sa famille et Vishaal le soumet à son test mais Suraj échoue. Vishaal veut alors que Muskaan épouse le frère de Thakur Vijay Singh (Aashif Sheikh) sans savoir que Thakur Vijay Singh (Nirmal Pandey) ne souhaite cette union que dans le but de se venger de la famille de Muskaan pour un différend que les deux familles avaient eu il y a longtemps.
