Music for the film was scored by Gurukiran. It is the first among a series of successful films under Upendra - Naganna combination. The film also starred Ashok, Gurukiran, Advani Lakshmi Devi, Shwetha in supporting roles and B.C. Patil and Sathya Raj played the negative roles. The film is a remake of the 1991 Tollywood film Gang Leader starring Chiranjeevi. The success of the film led to the release of two other successful films under Upendra - Naganna combination, namely Gokarna in 2003 and Gowramma in 2005.
Synopsis
The film starts as a simple family story of three brothers Vivek (Ashok), Vidhyadhar (Gurukiran) and Vijay (Upendra) along with their mother. Second brother Vidhyadhar is sent to study IAS and he comes back as DC and marries police officer Shekhar's (Sathyaraj) daughter Megha (Shwetha). In the mean time Kanyakumari (Natanya Singh) enters their home in an unusual circumstance. Later Shankar Patil's (B.C. Patil) gang murders elder brother Vivek as he was one of the witnesses to the murder of MLA Indumathi. From then on starts the saga of revenge.Acteurs

Based on Ira Levin's 1953 novel A Kiss Before Dying, it is a contemporary thriller about revenge. The main character is Ajay Sharma (Upendra). His father, Vishwanath Sharma (Sadhu Kokila), once owner of a great business empire, was defrauded by Madan Chopra (Dalip Tahil), a trusted employee in Vishwanath's company. The Sharma family is ousted from their own company and loses everything they owned. Soon afterwards, Ajay's father and his young baby sister die due to illness, unable to buy medicine because of their destitute state. His mother is now suffering from mental illness and memory loss. Driven over the edge, Ajay becomes obsessed with killing Chopra and destroying his family.

The film begins with three separate teams accusing the same man of marrying one among them and making off with all their wealth. The police term it the Manmatha Raja case, and it receives wide media coverage. A man's likeness is also broadcast. Upon seeing that, two more girls realise that they have also been cheated by the same man, but are unwilling to believe it. On a separate track, Panchamruta aka Panche (Upendra) is travelling in a bus. The bus meets with an accident and Panche is admitted to the hospital. A policeman ties Panche's face to that of the accused in the Manmatha Raja case and Panche is arrested. Panche's case receives widespread attention, and it finally comes before the judge (Lakshmi). The judge's daughter Pooja (Pooja Gandhi), a law student who's one of the girls cheated by Manmatha, obtains permission to watch the proceedings.

Shivasagar (Upendra), a wheelchair user, has a son, Vijay (also Upendra) who is playful and irresponsible. To teach him a lesson, he sends Vijay to Bhamapura to help the poor. Vijay doesn't want to go, but a local pizza restaurateur convinces Vijay and his friends that the village is one big brothel. In reality, Bhamapura is a sacred village and the restaurateur had purposefully deceived Vijay and his friends. Divya (Soundarya Jayamala) and her classmates also visit the village. They come for their social activity course to improve the village's health and hygiene. A large building is reserved for him and the girls are asked to stay in the poor families' houses. Vijay and his friends arrive and start to woo the girls, whom they mistake for Bhamapura's prostitutes. When Divya discovers their plan, she and her friends decide to teach Vijay and his friends a lesson.

Raghava (Upendra) is a typical jobless youth who spends his days playing cricket with friends. He suffers from an irrational fear of ghosts, and retreats to the safety of his home after sunset.
