Synopsis
Madhu aka Madhavan (Jayaram) is a successful playback singer. Chandramathi (Urvashi) is his illiterate, rustic, betel-chewing wife with a bad habit of spitting in wrong places, and they have four children. It can be described as incompatible matrimony but still a happy one. Madhu loves his wife even though they are out of sync because she has brought him luck. Here enters Lekha (Mamta Mohandas), a sophisticated urban model-cum-singer, who finds a place in the hearts of all the family members. Chandramathi thinks Lekha will be the perfect wife for her husband and a good mother for her children. How she goes about her plans of uniting Madhu and Lekha forms the rest of the story.Acteurs

Sanjeev (Jayaram) is a police officer who lives with his widowed father and two younger sisters, after death of his mother. He is also a singer in the police troupe along with his partner Salperu Sathanandhan (Jagathy Sreekumar), who is living with his two wives. Unnikrishan (Jayaram) wants to become a secret agent like his idol, Prem Nazir. His parents and his girlfriend support him but Unnikrishan still cannot find a job. He later gets selected as a trainee in a private detective agency called Secret Files. He is given the task of investigating a businessman's daughter's record. Payyarathu Padmanabhan Nair(Kalamandalam Kesavan), who is a well known personality is Praised by the people. The hurted Ramanathan Challenges his father he will accept and tell the truth to whole family.

Appu (Jayaram) and Maya (Manju Warrier) were childhood sweethearts, and their parents had agreed to their marriage. Appu is treated by Maya's father as his own son and this makes her uncle jealous of him. Maya's mother belongs a branch of local royal family. However, Maya's life turns upside down when she is identified as the heir to her mother's royal family after her horoscope matched with the qualities that the royal family was looking for. The Maharaja proposed to adopt her as heir princess to continue the lineage. Greed and position, makes her father looking ways to get rid of Appu, who might stand an obstacle and er Uncle then forces her to hate Appu in order for her to marry someone from the royal family. Meanwhile Appu and his best friend Mani (Kalabhavan Mani) try to win her back by disguising himself as Veerandran Varma, nephew of the King whom none of them have seen before, being the son of King's estranged sister Padmini(Sreevidya). In meantime, the real Veerandra Varma (Biju Menon) came to the Palace, on a mission to steal the royal crown. Veerendran Varma was a spoil brat and was a famous rouge in Delhi, earning him the title as Dilliwala Rajakumaran.

Mahadevan (Jayaram) and Kumaran (Janardhanan) work in a small firm and are room mates renting from Janakiamma (Meena). One day, luck comes to them when Mahadevan wins a car as the first prize of a promotional contest held by a washing-powder brand. Meanwhile, a murderer, Ambrose (Abu Salim) is after Maya. By mistake, both the murderer and Mahadevan get the same tag number on their cars' license plates. The murderers try a hit-and-run attack on Maya, but she escapes. She thinks that Mahadevan who did it. Mahadevan gets arrested by sub-inspector Cherian (Kalabhavan Mani) according to Maya's complaint. But due to lack of proper evidence, he's released with a warning. After getting through problems one after another, Mahadevan finds the real killers and their car. He tells Maya about the killers who attempted for her life. Shockingly it is revealed that one of the killers is Maya's Vishnu who is after her wealth. Vishnu tries to kill Maya, but Mahadevan stops him. In an attempt to kill Mahadevan and Maya, Vishnu dies by falling on a sharp object. In an attempt to dump his body, the couple is stopped by Vishnu's accomplice, Ambrose. He's enraged by his friend's death and tries to kill Mahadevan and Maya. But ends up at the dead end of the road, where the cops were waiting for him with an armed force. The car catches fire from the gunshots and explodes, killing him. The film ends with sub-inspector Cherian thanking Mahadevan and Maya, for their help and support.
