The film stars Vikram and Aishwarya while Poornam Viswanathan, Gandhimathi, Janagaraj, Chinni Jayanth, Tarun played supporting roles. Nassar and Sarath Kumar make friendly appearances. The latter has an extended cameo appearance.
Synopsis

Two honest and bold police officers Adhi Narayanan (Kamal Hassan) and Abbas (Arjun) device a master plan to bring in control the Terrorist Groups and send two secret vigilance officers, named Anand and Shiva on an operation called Operation "Dhanush". Gautham Subramaniam (Jayam Ravi) is a doctor from an Indian family who lives in Chennai. Since his father (Nizhagal Ravi) and mother are doctors, he wanted to become a doctor. Gautham gets an opportunity from the Government of India to go to Russia to represent India in a week long medical conference, along with five other young doctors. Gautham is delighted to receive this offer and packs his bags to fly to Russia. Meanwhile, his beloved is introduced on the frame which happens to be Shenba (Kangana Ranaut). She happens to be the same village girl in which Gautham's sister Sarasu, (Anu Haasan) resides with her husband (Chetan) and so they two meet and fall in love. Despite initial frictions between her father and uncle (Mahadevan and Bose Venkat) with Gautham, they eventually agree to get the pair married. Gautham’s parents agree to the marriage and as a happy man Gautham is ready to marry Shenba after his return to India from his Russia trip.

Kannan (Prashanth), a young music shop employee dreams of his dreamgirl with gold anklets. He sees a running girl's leg and finds he has found his girl and follows her with his anklets. Kannan goes to a music college to repair musical instruments and a group of college girls led by Gayatri (Simran) the girl which Kannan found as his dreamgirl approach him to request him to not to repair the instruments all they are very old and unfit to use for the music contest. Kannan uses the opportunity to become close to her but Gayathri does not reciprocate. Instead, she gets angry on his behaviour. Kannan accompanies Gayathri to Bangalore for the music contest. Gayathri once sees Kannan getting money from one of the musical bands who has come to participate in the contest. On the day of the contest Gayathri and her team are shocked that the song which they have composed was stolen by other troop and she misunderstands that Kannan has stolen and sold their work for money despite Kannan's protest that he is innocent. Kannan lends the love poems which he had written for her to sing for the contest. Gayathri gets the song and sings which wins her the prize. Gayathri understands that Kannan has no role in the stealing of the song and he got money from the troop for fixing their repaired musical instruments. Gayathri now realised her blunder for hurting him and rushes to apologize and accept his love. Kannan gets news that his father was injured and rushes to his home.

The film centres on Shashanka, a dacoit who starts off as a Robin Hood type before lapsing into mass, and merciless, killings. He then falls in love with the daughter of one of his captives, only to be spurned. The dejected dacoit commits suicide. Years later, the girl is reborn in Dubai, grows up, falls in love and is on the verge of getting married when she makes a visit to India, to the family's ancestral home. Disturbing thoughts, hallucinations and meetings with a bearded man who is, though she doesn't know it just yet, Shashanka reborn, mark the visit. The rest of the story traces Shashanka's intentions of trying to convince the girl of their previous life characters.

Rishi, jeune ingénieur citadin, opte pour un mariage arrangé avec une villageoise, Senbagam. Alors que Rishi doit faire part de sa décision face à toute la famille, il croise le regard de Roja, la jeune sœur de Senbagam, et annonce que c'est elle qu'il veut épouser. Le monde de Roja s'écroule. En effet, elle a toujours affirmé qu'elle ne se marierait pas et ferait des études. De plus elle se sent coupable, croyant avoir volé le fiancé de sa sœur. Dans ces conditions les débuts du jeune couple sont difficiles, mais cela s'arrange et tous deux partent pour le Cachemire où Rishi doit effectuer une mission pour l'armée. Leur bonheur ne semble pas connaître de limite dans cette région magnifique, quand soudain la réalité les rattrape : Rishi est enlevé par un groupe d'indépendantistes qui veut l'échanger contre leur leader emprisonné.
