Synopsis
The story is about the history heroes who had sacrificed their lives for the people and for the nation. Mukti-Bahini consists of brave and intelligent soldiers like Sajid(Dara Singh) and their aim is to free the nation from Pakistan so that they can form a new country, which is Dacca i.e. Bangladesh. The police officers and the leaders of Pakistan used to molest and rape the girls and women from Bangladesh, also torture and harass people and steal money and transfer all the funds from Bangladesh to Pakistan. The Mukti Bahini members fought against this racism and injustice, so that the people of Bangladesh could live freely, happily and with prosperity.Acteurs

Pyarelal (Raj Kapoor), a simple-minded and extremely naive young man, who was orphaned at birth, and now lives with Fatima (Lalita Pawar), a Muslim landlady who treats him like her son. Kewal (Raj Kapoor) reluctantly accepts his father (Kamal Kapoor)'s demands to continue the family tradition by studying law and become a successful lawyer just like him. However, due to a lack of interest in becoming a lawyer and more interest in opening up his own theatre company, he fails his law exams and is thrown out of the house by his father. Luckily he finds a patron of the arts Rajan, (Premnath) who is the owner of a theater company, that has closed down. A childhood romance with a girl named Nimmi haunts his fantasies, and Kewal searches for her in other women, even renaming them after his former sweetheart. With a theater, a play and a feminine image in his mind, he discovers a woman made homeless by Partition (Nargis) and the play of his dreams can at last be written and performed.

Naive, simple-minded Ramdin Pandey lives a poor lifestyle in Nasik, India, along with his sister, Shanti, and works as a Havaldar in the Nasik Central Jail. He arranges Shanti's marriage but the prospective groom's family want Rs.5000/- which he is unable to afford. To make matters due to his simplistic job performance he has not been promoted. Then their jail gets a new inmate, the dreaded Rehmat Khan, who has been found guilty of killing Ranga for allegedly attempting to molest his prostitute mistress, Zareena. Rehmat finds out about Ramdin's weakness, befriends and then uses him to escape on the pretext of visiting his ailing mother in Bombay, and never returns. A furious Jailor, Sharma, asks Ramdin to travel to Bombay, locate Rehmat, and then return or else he will not only lose his job but also be prosecuted. A hapless Ramdin agrees to do so - little knowing that soon he will be at the mercy of the cunning and cruel Rehmat as well as Ranga's vengeful brother, Jaggi.
