Synopsis
The film opens with young Ritu (Shradha Arya) bringing her friend Jia (Jiah Khan) to spend the holidays with her at her home in Kerala. Ritu's parents Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) and Amrita (Revathi) have a beautiful home surrounded by picture-perfect surroundings. Vijay is a photographer and Amrita is a homemaker.Acteurs

Kittu (Aftab Shivdasani) is an arts student in Pune and is madly in love with actress and film star Malika (Urmila Matondkar). A family of four moves into a house that is allegedly haunted. Manisha Sharma (Revathi) aka 'Mini' is a girl studying in her college. Akash Khurana plays her father Mr. Sharma while Rohini Hattangadi plays her mother Shalini Sharma. Deepak (Kushant) is Mini's classmate and boyfriend. Mini's nephew Bunty (Master Atit) finds a cat in the house basement. The cat has an eerie look on its face with its spot-staring eyes. One day the cat ventures behind the father's car rear wheel and is killed accidentally while the car is reversed. The cat is buried in the backyard without the knowledge of Bunty. Subhash Nagare (Amitabh Bachchan) est le chef d’un petit village du Maharashtra. Il est le Sarkar : il est extrêmement respecté et craint par la population locale. Son fils, Shankar (Abhishek Bachchan), héritier de la famille Nagare, se montre plus modéré que son père et aspire à utiliser la fortune familiale pour améliorer le sort du peuple. Quant à Anita Rajan (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), c'est une femme d’affaires sans scrupules dont le seul but est de gagner de l’argent pour son entreprise. À la tête de Sheppard Power, multinationale spécialisée dans la production d'énergie, elle soutient le projet de la construction d'une centrale électrique en pleine zone rurale. Shankar prend rapidement conscience des avantages que la centrale pourrait apporter à la population. Seul inconvénient : le projet nécessite un déplacement d’une part importante de la population. Après avoir convaincu Sarkar qui était contre le projet, Shankar entreprend un voyage avec Anita jusque dans les villages du Maharashtra pour convaincre les habitants. Cependant, l’entreprise de Shankar se heurte à de multiples obstacles et devient progressivement un champ de mines politique. Le régime de Sarkar est affaibli et le nom de Shankar est effacé de l'horizon politique.

Vijay Harshwardhan Malik (Amitabh Bachchan), the ethical CEO of struggling television channel India 24/7, is losing the ratings battle with a rival channel headed by Amrish Kakkar (Mohnish Behl). Malik's son Jai (Sudeep) makes a deal with a wealthy and corrupt politician, Mohan Pandey (Paresh Rawal), to frame the Prime Minister (K K Raina) for being complicit in a terror attack. Pandey can then take over the position and Jai will have enough money to start his own channel. Jai's brother-in-law (Rajat Kapoor) supports Mohan Pandey because he wants to become the biggest industrialist in the country and Pandey could help him by framing such policies. Jai shoots a short video featuring his friend Khanna and a close friend of the PM. This meeting is staged and the PM's friend, under duress, says that the PM was involved in plotting a bomb blast so as to create fear and panic among the people so that he could get a bill passed. Jai convinces his father that the story is true and believing it to be so, Malik airs it on his network. The scandal rocks the nation and elections are held in which Mohan Pandey wins. He becomes the PM. However, one of Malik's reporters, Purab (Ritesh Deshmukh), discovers the plot. He initially approaches Amrish Kakkar with a request to air his findings on the news. Amrish, though, cuts a deal with Mohan Pandey and does not air the CD. Purab then tells his boss of his findings on the day his son is getting engaged. Malik goes on air one final time and confesses the wrongdoings of his son, son-in-law and exposes Mohan Pandey. Unable to bear the guilt, Jai commits suicide. Mohan Pandey denies his role in the scandal. Malik steps down as the CEO of the news channel and hands over the baton to the reporter who exposed the truth.
