Nishi Padma is a 1970 Bengali drama film written and directed by Aravinda Mukherjee, based on a short story Hinger Kochuri by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay, and starring Uttam Kumar and Sabitri Chatterjee as leads. The film had music by Nachiketa Ghosh, and went on to win two awards at the 1970 National Film Awards: Manna Dey won Best Male Playback Singer for "Ja Khushi Ora Bole", while Sandhya Mukherjee won the Best Female Playback Singer for "Ore Sakol Sona Molin Holo".

The film was remade into a Hindi film, Amar Prem (1972) directed by Shakti Samanta, with screenplay by Aravind Mukherjee, and starring Sharmila Tagore and Rajesh Khanna as leads.

The story is as Ranjan went to jail against a false allegation. His father became mad and roamed in the streets. His uncle Sanatan made a conspiracy and as a result, all these accidents happened. After sixteen years, he came back and saw the changes. He hid his identity and rescued local villagers from the exploitations of the zamindar. As a result, villagers helped him and saved him from different crisis. In this way within few days, he became very popular among his neighbors. Sanatan came to know about this person from his people, but could not identify him. He put his every effort to trace Ranjan and put him in a false position. Villagers and well-wishers helped him a lot and saved in different occasions. After a lot of incidents, Ranjan punished his uncle Sanatan and reunited with his father.

Tapasi, a well-educated girl, goes to a hill station for a holiday and meets a rich young man, named Kiriti. They fall in love. However, Tapasi had already married Bulu, a teenage village Zamindar, although her mother could not accept the wedding and brought her back home. Tapasi's guilt stays with her. She decides to get married again, but her brother reminds her about her past. Tapasi approaches her grandmother for advice. Her grandmother reminds her about Sita's "Agni pariksha" in the Ramayana, and how Sita triumphed over every obstacle. She hopes Tapasi will also emerge victorious after going through a similar test. Tapasi is determined to face the truth and she returns to her old village. She tries to meet Bulu, but sees Kiriti in front of her. She realises that Kiriti is Bulu, her long-lost love.

Le chanteur Goopy et le percussionniste Bagha, tous deux chassés de leurs villages respectifs à cause de leurs horribles prestations, font connaissance dans la forêt. Ils parviendront à empêcher le déclenchement d'une guerre imminente entre les États voisins de Shundi et Halla, pourtant dirigés par deux frères, mais dont l'un est sous l'influence néfaste d'un magicien qui a du reste également ensorcelé toute la population en la rendant muette. De fil en aiguille, grâce à leur habileté, les deux héros vont combattre les forces du mal et rétablir l'harmonie entre les frères et les royaumes, obtenant même de chacun la main d'une princesse.
