Ratchagan is a 1997 Tamil action film, produced by K. T. Kunjumon& Francis Joseph on J. R. S. Combines banner, directed by Praveen Gandhi. Starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Sushmita Sen in the lead roles, alongside Raghuvaran, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Vadivelu and Girish Karnad in supporting roles. The film was dubbed into telugu as Rakshakudu. The soundtrack composed by A. R. Rahman remained a chartbuster.
Synopsis
Ajay (Nagarjuna) is an unemployed youth who always gets into trouble because of his temper. This angry young man gets heated up when he encounters anyone committing a crime; he takes the law into his own hands, beats them up and then gives them some free advice. Ajay’s father (S. P. Balasubrahmanyam), who works for an insurance firm, is very unhappy with his son’s attitude, and tries his best to change Ajay's attitude through a meditation expert but he fails in this matter as the expert suggests that Ajay's anguish is reasonable. Ajay meets Sonia (Sushmita Sen) through his father, and Sonia falls in love with him. What Sonia likes about Ajay is his temper and anger when he encounters anything which is against the law. Sonia gets Ajay’s father's help to get Ajay to love her. Still, Ajay is not interested in her and seriously rejects her at first; but he later changes his mind after going through some unusual situations, and love blossoms between them.Acteurs

Prabhu (Prabhu Deva) est un lycéen. Le principal lui demande d'inviter le gouverneur du Tamil Nadu, Kakarlal Sathyanaryanamoorthy (Girish Karnad), qui sera le chef invité de la journée annuelle de l'Ordre. Alors qu'il se rend inviter Kakarlal (Girish Karnad), il rencontre sa belle fille, Shruthi (Nagma), et en tombe immédiatement amoureux, tandis qu'elle aussi tombe amoureuse de lui. Une crainte du terrorisme, ne permet pas la fille de Kakarlal (Girish Karnad) de se rendre n'importe où sans ses gardes du corps. À une occasion, elle s'enfuit avec Prabhu (Prabhu Deva) à un festival de danse. Peu de temps après, il y a une menace de bombe, et Shruthi (Nagma) est immédiatement ramenée chez elle, et Prabhu (Prabhu Deva) arrêté. Kakarlal (Girish Karnad) interdit à Shruthi (Nagma) de voir Prabhu (Prabhu Deva). Prabhu, libéré de garde à vue, après avoir été violemment frappé, va à ooty à la recherche de Shruthi (Nagma), ignorant l'évolution de la situation. C'est là qu'il trouve des preuves qui le conduiront au refuge d'un téméraire terroriste Mallikarjuna (Raghuvaran) qui est le cerveau des attentats à la bombe, et s'associe avec Kakarlal (Girish Karnad) pour tuer des innocents.

Mass (Nagarjuna Akkineni) is an orphan, who bonds well with his landlord's son Adi (Sunil). He is behind a collegian Anjali (Jyothika) who happens to be the daughter of Vizag city's mafia don Satya (Raghuvaran). This restricts her from falling for him, as it would land him in danger but she finally gives in after some time. She suggests that he ties the knot immediately before her brother (Rahul Dev) and father try separating them. The gangsters in the process kill Mass's best friend Adi, when he tries to stop them when they try separating the lead pair, before their marriage. The hero moves into Vizag and stays in an apartment hiding his identity to take revenge on the mafia dons. Marudhamalai (Arjun), a police constable, goes to work in the village of Nachiapuram after passing his police exams and getting a merit. Here, he meets 'Encounter' Ekambaram (Vadivelu) who is his senior officer. He is asked to do all sorts of work for him and one day, Marudhamalai loses a convict on the way to the court due to Ekambaran's soft heart. He then is to clean the floors of the inspector's house and there, he falls in love with Nila. Then, later in the market, after Ekambaram is humiliated by a beggar, Marudhamalai sees Maasi, the 'boss' of the city, killing a person who stood for a candidate in the elections. Then the election commissioner comes to the place and he discovers that elections have not been held for 16 years in the city due to Maasi's opposition.
