Pagadai Panirendu is a 1982 Tamil language Indian feature film directed by Dhamodharan N, starring Kamal Haasan, Sripriya and Y. G. Mahendra.
Synopsis
The film is the story of Anand (Kamal Haasan), a journalist and a martial arts expert. Anand is in love with Sripriya. He gets a micro film showing the wrongdoings of underworld king Sudarsan. Now the gang is after Anand for the micro film. Sudarsan's gang member Sathyapriya befriend Anand to get the micro film, but fails. Meantime Anand's love Sripriya leaves her house as her father Major Sundarrajan is against their affair. Sripriya get threatened by Sudarsan's gang for micro film. Anand's friend Y. G. Mahendran also get trapped by the underworld gang to retrieve the micro film. Anand had to fight against his martial arts master too, who is an aide of Sudarsan. Finally Anand succeeds in eliminating the entire gang saving micro film.Acteurs

The film opens on the studio set of a fictional 1990s TV show, The Gourmet Detective. This is depicted as a crass cross-genre detective/cookery series ("two recipes and one murder per show"), whose lead character (played by Keith Allen) presents his recipe in a style that parodies Keith Floyd. Allen's "on-screen" Gourmet Detective character is the epitome of politically correct "new man" compassion, but the actor "off-screen" is shown to be an obnoxious, drug-taking womaniser. He is subsequently murdered – the second TV detective to be killed in six months – and the rest of the film involves the search for his assassin.

The plot is predicated on the Vatican being controlled by the Mafia boss Vittorio Corelli (Herbert Lom). Using film noir low key lighting and unbalanced frame compositions, along with visual and narrative tropes whose sources include John Buchan's novels and Alfred Hitchcock's films, and Hollywood productions The Fugitive and Sunset Boulevard, the film imagines former British Prime Minister Tony Blair as a fugitive on the run from the police after having been accused of a series of murders. These include the killing of his former Foreign Secretary Robin Cook, although he is also implicated in the death of his predecessor as Labour Party leader John Smith. Determined to clear his name, Blair escapes from 10 Downing Street; but he is a man with no friends willing to give him sanctuary, while a fervent media demands his capture. He is pursued across a fog-bound London by Inspector Hutton and his sergeant, who are helped in their investigation by Peter Mandelson and Gordon Brown. Blair is eventually aided by Margaret Thatcher, a Norma Desmond-like recluse (parodying the 1950 film, Sunset Boulevard), who promptly seduces him. But it gradually emerges that Blair may be innocent of the crime he is accused of committing.

Madan (Kamal Haasan) is a dancer by profession who is a dream boy of all young girls. Kalpana (Shobana),a young woman, is irritated by Madan's fame and she badly criticizes his performances which attracts attention of Madan on her. He challenges that he would make her long for him and his love, but he falls in love with her. He tries to win her love in several ways but eventually fails. One night he gets into her house with a face mask which makes Kalpana to misunderstand that he is a thief and screams and alerts her home. Madan is trapped and handed over to the police. Madan, who is a son of pickle businessman Ooruga Ulaganathan (V. K. Ramaswamy) rescues him from Police custody and finds the reason for incident to be his love for Kalpana. Kalpana's father, who is a psychiatrist, finds that Madan is the son of his old friend Ulaganathan. Madan-Kalpana's marriage is approved and fixed then.
