The film follows some of the premise covered in the Roger Corman film Humanoids from the Deep – sea creatures coming to shore and attacking and mating with humans, but also contains the idea of a film-within-a-film device. A film crew (Nick Baldasare plays the director Mel Duncan) are on location making a film Invasion of the Fishfuckers – which happens to be a story about sea creatures coming ashore and attacking and mating with humans. Ron Jeremy is part of this film crew. It is notable that this is one of his few non-porn roles. Whilst they are making the film coincentally the very thing they're filming seems to be happening around them. Thus, there's a blurring between reality and fiction.

A drug deal gone bad results in biologically engineered marijuana being delivered to the Strip-O-Sauraus, a run-down strip club known for giant dinosaur statues in its parking lot. Club owner Ralph Vivino (Michael R. Thomas) is worried over its appearance, because if anything goes wrong at the club on his watch, his rival will take his job. Cockroaches fed on the tainted pot and mutate to become bloodthirsty, giving Ralph and the club’s dancers, Crystal (Misty Mundae), Teresa (Julian Wells), and Trix (Erika Smith) immediate problems as the bugs infest the club, sucking blood and causing mayhem. Ralph calls an ineffectual exterminator, "Buzz" O'Reilly (Rob Monkiewicz), who then enlists the help of Crystal who has received a nasty bug bite. Buzz's strongest chemicals cannot stop the carnivorous insects and the entire club falls under attack. A DEA agent arrives to destroy both the shipment and the mutated bugs, but unwittingly helps the bugs mutate further.

A failed, TV reporter (Steve Diasparra) is sent to the swamps of Pennsylvania to set up a story on the fabled creature present there, the Muckman. Initially it seems the reporter, Mickey, is having good luck, but it is later revealed that the "creature" he was seeing was a hoax. Desperate for actual leads, Mickey and his partner Asia (A.J. Khan), assemble a team to lead them to the actual creature. The team composed of Billie (Allison Whitney), Pauline (Danielle Donahue), Curly (Ian Piper) and Drew (Jared Warren), goes off to local resident, Cletus' (Ken Van Sant), cabin to await the arrival of the Muckman. Soon enough Billie finds the Muckman's eggs, and tries to hatch them. But the Muckman becomes severely angered by this, and starts to attack the crew, Cletus, and his family.

Out on a highway in Death Valley, a man picks up a female hitchhiker named Lucindia, and gives her a drink. Lucindia has a coughing fit upon ingesting the liquid, stumbles out of the vehicle, and is stabbed to death by the motorist. The man (revealed to be a priest, whose offer to Lucindia was holy water) buries Lucindia's body, and erects a crucifix similar to the dozens dotting the roadside over the impromptu grave. As the preacher prays, Lucindia reappears and bludgeons him with his shovel as he shouts "El Diablo!"
